Hi my friends, I'm back to share another card made using Simon Says Etched Berry Branch die from the Handmade Holiday release. There are lots of fabulous products in this release and you can check them all out HERE
Yesterday's card was simple and elegant using a neutral colour palette, today's card is way more vivid and colourful. I used Distress Re-inkers which are one of my favourite Distress mediums, small bottles of concentrated pigment and not just for re-inking your Distress ink pads. Oh no, they are so much more, great for watercolouring with a Distress Detailer Brush or as I did here, used with lots of water to create a background. They are so versatile and even diluted with water, they maintain their true colour - you're not going to get a washed out version of the original. I added a drop of Candied Apple. Rustic Wilderness and Fossilized Amber on to my Glass Media Mat, generously spritzed water on to an A2 panel of Distress Watercolor card, loaded my brush with water, picked up the first colour and swished the brush around on the card. I rinsed my brush, loaded with clean water, repeated the process with the remaining two colours and dried once I was happy with the background.
I die-cut Simon Says Stamp Etched Berries Branch twice from Tim Holtz/Idea-ology Gold Metallic KraftStock and fixed to the panel with Distress Collage Medium. I die-cut Simon Says Merry Frame from Distress Watercolor card, separated the 3 pieces of the die-cut and fixed the frame in place with Distress Collage Medium.
I added small dots of Distress Collage Medium to the words section, fixed the background inside the frame and pressed the "Merry" word die-cut into place. Once it was attached, I carefully removed the background section.
Beautiful card, I love the colours Kath and the way you fixed the wording is clever, I would have been an age getting that sorted.xx
