Tim Holtz/STAMPtember 2022

Hi my friends, if you tuned in to the Tim Holtz YouTube Live to launch his STAMPtember 2022 collaboration with Simon Says Stamp, you'll know that Tim has done it again with a beautifully nostalgic stamp set and falling snow stencil. Santa and snowflakes get me everytime and I'm so excited to share the card I made for the Live, with a front flap opening to reveal a surprise sentiment. If you missed the launch, you can rewatch over on Tim's YouTube Channel HERE or over on Tim's Blog HERE and check out all the amazing makes from lots of talented makers from across the world.

I began by trimming Distress Watercolor card to create a 5" x 7" panel, fixed masking paper to create a snowbank at the bottom and stamped the snowflakes from the set, inked with Simon Says White Pigment Ink, sprinkled with Simon Says Clear Embossing Powder and heat set. I spritzed the panel with Iced Spruce Distress Spray Stain and dried.
I smooshed the Iced Spruce Distress Oxide ink pad on to the craft mat on my Glass Media Mat, spritzed with water and tapped the card repeatedly into the ink and dried between layers to darken and intensify the background. I buffed the snowflakes with a clean cloth to remove any ink residue and removed the masking paper.
I applied Distress Snowfall Grit Paste through the stencil that is included with the stamp set and set aside to dry.
I trimmed Distress Watercolor card to 5.1/2" square and scored 1/2" in from the left side. I stamped the Santa image, inked with Black Soot Distress Archival ink, trimmed roughly around the top edge and coloured the image with Distress Watercolor pencils using a Distress Detailer Brush.
I fussy cut around the image, added masking paper on the back of the panel to create a snowbank, stamped and embossed the snowflakes as before, coloured the background, stamped more snowflakes with Iced Spruce Distress Oxide ink and applied Distress Snowfall Grit Paste to match the card front.
I fixed the front flap to the main panel, matted on to red cardstock and matted on to white card. I stamped extra snowflakes inked with Iced Spruce Distress Oxide ink and stamped the sentiment inked with Barn Door Distress Archival ink.

I stamped the second sentiment, inked with Versamark, on to red cardstock, sprinkled with Simon Says White Embossing Powder and heat set. I trimmed to create a tag, added a red thread bow and fixed to the front panel with Distress Collage Medium Matte.

The STAMPtember 2022 stamp set and stencil are limited edition, exclusive to Simon Says Stamp and only available while stocks last, so do not delay if you want to grab it.
Have fun crafting
