Simon Says - Fun With Foil

Hi Everyone...welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog. Thank you for joining us for last week's challenge and we hope you can join us this week too because

and the theme for this week is...
FUN WITH FOIL
I created a frosty winter card using Simon Says Dashing Snowflakes Embossing Folder from the Heart to Heart release, Ranger Sticky Embosing Powder, Gina K Gold Sequins Fancy Foil and to complete the winter scene, Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Mr Frostie and co-ordinating dies.

I embossed an A2 panel of Distress Watercolor card using Simon Says Stamp Dashing Snowflakes Embossing Folder. I smooshed Seedless Preserves, Dusty Concord and Villainous Potion Distress Oxide ink pads on to my media mat and spritzed with water. I dragged the panel through the inks, dried and repeatedly tapped back in to the inks, drying between layers until I was happy with the coverage.
I dragged a Versamark ink pad over the embossed areas, sprinkled with Ranger Sticky Embossing Powder, heat set, placed Gina K Gold Sequins Fancy Foil on top and rubbed with my finger.

I fixed a torn strip of vellum across the bottom of the panel and stamped the snowman image from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Mr Frostie inked with Versafine Clair Nocturne Ink for placement. I reinked the image along with the snowflake, stamped on to Distress Watercolor card and die-cut using Simon Says Mr Frostie co-ordinating dies. I dragged the Versamark ink pad around the edges of the panel, sprinkled with Ranger Sticky Embossing Powder, heat set and applied the foil again. I shaded the snowman and snowflake with Seedless Preserves and Villainous Potion Distress Oxide inks using a Distress Detailer Brush and fixed to the panel using Simon Says Thin 3D Foam Squares.
I stamped the sentiment from the Mr Frostie stamp set on to Distress Watercolor card, inked with Villainous Potion Distress Oxide ink, sprinkled with Clear Embossing Powder, heat set, fussy cut and fixed in place with 3D Thin Foam Squares. To finish I matted the panel on to a top-folding A2 white card blank and decorated with Pink Fresh Studio Gold Glitter Drops.

  1. A beautiful winter card and I love the gold foil accents in combination with the purple and pink background.
