Simon Says - Things With Wings

Hi Everyone...welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog. Thank you for joining us for last week's challenge and we hope you can join us this week too because

THINGS WITH WINGS

I created a card to celebrate the feathered friends who live in my garden and provide year round entertainment with their aerial acrobats around the bird feeders. I used Tim Holtz/Sizzix Feathered Friends Thinlits, Idea-ology Serendipity Collage Paper and Mummy Cloth, Simon Says Stamp Birdies Wafer Die and Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Note Quotes for the sentiment.

I trimmed Distress Watercolor card to 4" x 5.1/4" and coloured using a Distress Custom Blend ink pad, the re-inkers used to create the ink pad are linked below. I fixed torn strips of Idea-ology Serendipity Collage Paper to the panel using Distress Collage Medium and a Collage Brush. I fixed a strip of Idea-ology Mummy Cloth to the bottom of the panel and added the branch die-cut from Distress Kraft HeavyStock using Simon Says Stamp Birdies Wafer die and coloured with Scorched Timber Distress Ink.

I applied Distress Opaque Texture Paste through the Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Grid Dot Mini Layering Stencil from Set 27. I die-cut Tim Holtz/Sizzix Feathered Friends Thinlits from Distress Black HeavyStock and Distress Watercolor card, coloured with Wild Honey and Peeled Paint Distress Oxide inks using Tiny Blending Tools and assembled. I stamped the frame and sentiment from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Note Quotes on to a scrap of Distress Watercolor card, inked with Ground Espresso Distress Archival ink, coloured the centre with Peeled Paint Distress Oxide ink and fussy cut. I fixed the bird and sentiment to the panel using Simon Says Stamp 3D Thin Foam Squares and added splatters of Black Gesso. I decorated with a white hemp twine bow and Trinity Stamps Creamy Vanilla Heart Sprinkles.

To finish I matted the panel on to Distress Kraft HeavyStock trimmed 1/8" smaller than A2 and fixed to a top folding A2 white card blank.
