Simon Says - Locket Of Love

Hello my friends from my snowed-in corner of Scotland but in between repeatedly clearing the car and the driveway in an attempt to get out into civilisation again, I have managed to sneak in a little bit of crafting and am sharing a card made with the Locket Of Love stamp set from Simon Says Stamp latest release Heart to Heart. There are lots of fabulous products in this release to celebrate Love and you can check them all out HERE.

I created a vintage style Valentine's Day card using the Locket Of Love stamp set from the release, Tim Holtz/Idea-ology Backdrops 5 paper and Collage Strips and Distress Crayons to add a touch of grunge.

I trimmed the Tim Holtz/Idea-ology Backdrops 5 floral paper to 4" x 5.1/4", placed in my stamping tool and stamped the locket image, inked with Versafine Clair Nocturne ink.

I fixed two strips trimmed from Tim Holtz/Idea-ology Collage Strips to the panel with Distress Collage Medium. I replaced the panel into my stamping tool in the same place as before and stamped the Locket Of Love image again, along with the string of pearls and sentiment.

I dried the images with my heat tool and applied a layer of Distress Collage Medium over the panel using a Distress Collage Brush.  I scribbled Kitsch Flamingo, Rustic Wilderness and Walnut Stain Distress Crayons on my media mat and used a Distress Detailer Waterbrush to colour the flowers and leaves. I scribbled the Walnut Stain Distress Crayon around the edges of the panel and the Collage Strips and rubbed with my finger to create shadows.

To finish I dragged Kitsch Flamingo Distress Oxide ink pad around the edges of an A2 white card blank and fixed the panel in place.
