Simon Says - Thanks/Thanksgiving

Hi Everyone...welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog. Thank you for joining us for last week's challenge and we hope you can join us this week too because

THANKS/THANKSGIVING

I've been filling up my card box and using up some of my paper scraps to create quick and easy Thank You cards. I die-cut leaves from scraps of Idea-ology Christmas Backdrops using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Holiday Brushstrokes 3 Thinlits and the sentiment using Simon Says Extra Large Thank You over-stamped with the script from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Gothic Tapestry.

I began by scoring and folding Simon Says Stamp #120 Ultra White cardstock to create a batch of 5" square cards. I die-cut the leaves from scraps of contrasting green Idea-ology Christmas Backdrops using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Holiday Brushstrokes 3 Thinlits, inked the edges with Walnut Stain Distress Ink and assembled.

I die-cut Simon Says Stamp Extra Large Thank You 3 times for each card from Distress Watercolour card. I added the die-cut leaves to the card, fixed the layered sentiment on top using Distress Collage Medium and added splatters of Walnut Stain Distress ink.

I stamped the script from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Gothic Tapestry, inked with Ground Espresso Distress Archival, on to Distress Watercolor card, added Bundled Sage Distress Oxide ink over the top using a mini round blending tool and die-cut the Thank word.

I inked the script stamp again with Ground Espresso Distress Archival ink and holding the stamp in my hands stamped randomly over the background.

I coloured Distress Watercolor card with Walnut Stain Distress ink, die-cut the You word and fixed both coloured die-cut words in place with Distress Collage Medium Matte.

Simon Says - Holiday Wishes

Hi my friends, I'm sharing another card made using the Refined Snowflakes Embossing Folder, Tree Lots stencil and Holiday Greens 4" x 6" stamp set from Simon Says Stamp Holiday Sparkle release and you can check out all the products from this fabulously festive release HERE.

I dragged Simon Says White Pigment ink pad across the debossed side of the Refined Snowflakes Embossing Folder, placed a panel of Distress Kraft HeavyStock on top and ran the folder through my die-cutting machine.

I added splatters of Distress Resist spray to the panel, sprinkled with Simon Says White Embossing Powder and heat set. I tore the panel to leave a ragged edge and fixed to an A2 white card blank. I stamped the large sentiment from the Holiday Greens stamp set, inked with Simon Says Clear Embossing ink, on to a strip of Simon Says Lipstick Red cardstock, sprinkled with Simon Says White Embossing Powder, heat set and fixed to the panel with Distress Collage Medium. I stamped the smaller sentiment on to the card blank, inked with Barn Door Distress Archival.

I stencilled the trees on to scraps of Distress Watercolor card using the Tree Lot Stencil and Twisted Citron, Peeled Paint, Rustic Wilderness and Frayed Burlap Distress Oxide inks applied with Simon Says Detail Round Blending Brushes. I trimmed around the trees to leave a white border and fixed to the panel using Distress Collage Medium and Simon Says Foam Squares on the 2 trees in front to create dimension.

I added Idea-ology Christmas Droplets to the trees, an Idea-ology Christmas Token from my stash (discontinued some time ago) and a red thread bow.

Simon Says - Holiday Sparkle Release

Hi my friends, Simon Says Stamp have just released Holiday Sparkle, a bumper selection of fabulous products to make your festive making...SPARKLE, forgive the pun and you can check out all the new products HERE.

I've been having lots of fun making cards with the Refined Snowflakes Embossing Folder which comes with 2 matching dies along with the Tree Lots Stencil and am sharing the first card today. 

I placed a 4" x 5.1/4" panel of Distress Watercolor card in the Refined Snowflakes Embossing Folder and ran it through my die-cutting machine. I lightly rubbed the Wilted Violet Distress Oxide ink pad over the raised area, spritzed lightly with water to let the colour wick out and dried.I applied Wilted Violet Distress Oxide ink through the Tree Lots Stencil using a mini round blending tool and oops, me bad, I just noticed I used the tool for Villainous Potion by mistake but that will be our little secret.I cleaned the ink off the stencil, replaced over the trees, applied Distress Snowfall Grit Paste and set aside to dry.Once dry, I fussy cut the trees leaving a thin wide border around the edgesI fixed the trees in place with Simon Says Foam Squares and die cut the Peace word 4 times from Distress Watercolor card and the shadow twice from Simon Says Vellum, layered to create dimension and fixed beneath the trees using foam squares.I love that the Distress Snowfall Grit Paste gives the trees a beautiful shimmery sparkle and also slightly lightens the original Wilted Violet colour. To finish I matted the panel on to an A2 white card blank, added Lucy's Little Things Silver Pearls and shimmer to Peace using a Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Pen.

I'm Loving Lumberjack Plaid

Happy Friday my friends, is it just me that's thinking "where does the week go" - one minute it's Monday and before you know, it's almost the weekend again. But back to the crafty stuff and I'm sharing another two cards made with the gorgeous Tim Holtz/Ranger Lumberjack Plaid using Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Retro Flakes, Christmas Element Stencils and my new addiction those funky Bottlebrush Trees.

I spritzed a 4" x 5.1/4" panel of Distress Watercolor card with Lumberjack Distress Spray Stain and Distress Spray Oxide, spritzed with water and dried. I stamped Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Retro Snowflakes over the background, inked with Versamark ink, sprinkled with Simon Says White Detail Embossing Powder and heat set. I smooshed the Evergreen Bough Distress Oxide ink pad on to my craft mat, spritzed with water and added splatters to the background.

I added a drop of Evergreen Bough Distress Re-inker to Distress Snowfall Grit Paste, applied through the Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Christmas Elements Stencil and while the paste was wet, sprinkled with Distress Rock Candy Glitter.

I added Tim Holtz/Idea-ology Christmas Remnant Rubs which came from a pack which contained both black and white but which is now discontinued.

To finish I added Tim Holtz/Idea-ology Christmas Droplets to the centres of the snowflakes, an Idea-ology Christmas Label Sticker to complete the sentiment and fixed the panel to an A2 white card blank.

I smooshed Evergreen Bough Distress Oxide ink on to the craft mat on my Glass Media Mat and spritzed with water. I added Lumberjack Plaid Distress Spray Stain and Distress Oxide Spray and pulled an A2 panel of Distress Watercolor card through the inks and dried. I tapped the panel back in to pick up the remaining droplets. 

I stamped Tim Holtz/Stampers Christmas Background from Sparkles and Christmas, inked with Black Soot Distress Archival. I masked off the top of the stamping and stamped the Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Bottlebrush Trees.

I die-cut the greenery from Distress Watercolor card and backgrounds coloured with Lumberjack Plaid and Evergreen Bough Distress Oxide inks using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Modern Festive Thinlits. I applied Distress Collage Medium to the die-cuts with my finger and sprinkled with Distress Rock Candy Glitter.

I fixed the greenery in place with Distress Collage Medium. I scribbled over a Tim Holtz/Idea-ology Quote Token with Picket Fence Distress Crayon, rubbed the crayon into the detail, wiped back with a soft cloth, fixed to the panel with Distress Collage Medium and decorated with a double red thread bow.

I added stars die-cut from Distress Watercolor card using the Modern Festive Thinlits, fixed in place on the panel and added Distress Collage Medium and Distress Rock Candy Glitter.

I roughed up the edges of the panel using a Tim Holtz Distressing Tool and fixed to an A2 white card blank, covered with Tim Holtz/Idea-ology Black KraftStock paper.

Merry + Bright

Hi my friends, it was a great start to the week and certainly made the day Merry + Bright when my FedEx friend delivered a very special box of Tim Holtz/Ranger Ink Lumberjack Plaid goodies. Lumberjack Plaid is the latest colour to join the Distress family and what a gorgeous colour it is too, the most beautiful perfect Christmas red. After a little swatching and labelling, it was for some fun playtime and if you follow my blog, you'll know that I can't resist adding a snowflake or two on my Christmas cards.

I smooshed Lumberjack Plaid Distress Ink and Distress Oxide ink on to the craft mat on my Glass Media Mat, spritzed with water and dragged an A2 panel of Distress Watercolor card through the ink, dried and tapped back in to pick up the remaining droplets. I lightly inked the Christmas background from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Sparkles and Christmas with Lumberjack Plaid Distress Ink and stamped down the centre of the panel to give a little tone on tone interest to the background. I inked one of the snowflake images from Tim Holtz STAMPtember 2022 stamp set with Versamark ink, sprinkled with Simon Says White Detail Embossing Powder and heat set. If you don't have this stamp set, Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Weathered Winter is a good alternative. I stamped the Christmas background again along the bottom of the panel with Lumberjack Plaid Distress Ink, sprinkled with the Lumberjack Plaid Embossing Glaze and heat set.I die-cut Merry + Bright from the bottom of the panel using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Bold Text Christmas Thinlits and set the letters aside to use on another card.I stamped the tree from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Bottlebrush Trees, inked with Evergreen Bough and Lumberjack Plaid Distress Oxide inks on to a scrap of Distress Watercolor card, sprinkled the tree base and tree with Lumberjack Plaid Embossing Glaze, heat set, trimmed to leave a white border and fixed to the panel with Foam Squares to create dimension.

To finish I trimmed the panel to 4" x 5.1/4" and fixed to an A2 white card blank.

I'm on a Lumberjack Plaid roll so will be back tomorrow to share more cards using this must-have Christmas colour. In the meantime, have fun with whatever you're making.
