IT'S OFFICIAL.......

Woooo.....hoooo.... it's official....I am now a SENIOR CITIZEN....sounds quite an important title...far better than the other...old-age pensioner....I am now entitled to my free bus pass and wait for it.....10% off at B&Q on Wednesdays.....can hardly wait.....must make a list of DIY stuff we need and I noticed the other day..my local baker does a special offer for us oldies on a Wednesay....4 buns for 50p...wow.... I can hardly contain my excitement.....    To be honest when I woke up this morning......I didn't feel any different...just another morning like any other....the same old stiff body getting out of bed...still the same old wrinkly face looking back at me from the mirror......OK the body is feeling it's age but the mind ain't...and what is it about this country that we treat old people like second class citizens....just because you have reached the autumn of your life doesn't mean to say you are in your dotage....well let me tell you I ain't ready for my zimmer yet....don't need incontinence knickers....well maybe on the odd occasion when I take a fit of the giggles (any comments from Fiskars buddies will not be published) and intend to keep on living life in the fast lane....My motto is........Life is what you make it and this ain't a rehearsal.......so go for it.....
I can't quite believe it's 60 years since I came into the world in the early hours of a Sunday morning... bum first (breech delivery for those in the know).. assisted by Sir Dugald Baird...a very eminent obstetrician of his day and my Mum almost strangled him when she grabbed his tie during a particularly bad labour pain....and I was named after the Irish Midwife present at the birth....Kathleen (my Sunday name)
I had an idyllic childhood with my younger sister surrounded by animals...dogs...cats and my passion horses.....lots of wonderful memories and some sad ones too........
I have been totally overwhelmed by all the beautiful cards I have received from my bloggy friends and it's twice as special when you are a cardmaker and you receive handmade cards from other cardmakers...must admit to a few tears as I opened them ....each and everyone so special just like the people who sent them...I will post pics later to share with the whole bloggy world....and thank you...thank you....thank you....it means so much to me and you all hold a special place in my heart.  And thank you Gayle for the chocs......you are spoiling me...but hubby thinks it's great...if I am chewing....I ain't talking.
Believe it or not....I am having a little time off today....going to lunch with a special friend....well it's my birthday...all work and no play....makes life very boring.....nothing planned for tonight...this is what happens when you get old...you would rather just put your feet up and relax with a Chinese Takeaway than party ....and my little Sis is under strict instructions "NO SURPRISE PARTY".
Tomorrow out for lunch with the two special fellas in my life....Brodie and Oliver.    Sis and I have a little jaunt to London planned for early December...so that will be my birthday treat....once the card making frenzy has passed.
Well off to walk "The Budster"....home for a leisurely brekkie and then I need to get tarted up for my lunch date....the polyfilla takes a while to set......don't you know.....  I do have one little concern.....what if Sir Tim...the legend...my craft idol....he who is king.... Holtz should come to visit whilst I am out for lunch....I would be so disappointed to have missed him....do you think I should leave a message on the door telling him to wait....I will be home again early afternoon....."I WISH".....BUT A GIRL CAN DREAM CAN'T SHE...ESPECIALLY ON HER BIRTHDAY.
Catch up with you all tomorrow on Penny Black Saturday.....and then will be back to show off all my lovely cards.....you are in for a real treat....Love Kath xxxxxx
P.S.  I can't believe it....the best birthday present ever....I have just had an e-mail from guess who....
TIM HOLTZ
wishing me a Happy Birthday and I can guess who organised this....you...wonderful..wonderful lady.....
