It's been far too cold for al fresco Jubilee partying...no pimms or canapes in the garden for me...I'll be snuggled up on the sofa again today...tissues at the ready for today's Procession up the Mall...all that "All The Queens Horses and All The Queens Men" ceremonial marchy stuff gets me every time...it's hairs on the back of your neck standing up time and no-one can match us Brits when it comes to pomp and pageantry...fingers crossed the weather behaves and it doesn't rain on Her Maj's big parade.
But in between all that patriotic blubbing I managed to have a little crafty time so I'm joining in the fun over at The Ribbon Girls first Monthly Card Challenge...
a date for your dairies...the first Sunday of each month

Time to put the kettle on and it would be so rude to ignore the Royal Decree so there will be lots of cake. See you all tomorrow over at WOYWW.

Loving the Pink Petticoat papers and the card is so fitting for the weekend. I have to agree with you, the pagent was amazing, but the service this morning and the parade today will have me reaching for the Kleenex again (if there are any left!)

Congrats to Sue and what a great Jubilee card. Fab fireworks pic too. Have a lovely day.
ReplyDeleteLove the patriotic cupcake & your layering of the lace & twine. Enjoy the Britishness. We may have to put the heating back on here in the Beacons - wind, rain & good old British weather!

It was amazing yesterday, I lost my voice from singing too much! They had the cheek in the Telegraph this morning to be critical of Gary and Andrew L-W's song!!! I loved the whole thing. Kath, your card is beautiful, the beautiful lace really sets the whole thing off. Wonderful. Anne x

Lovely post. I felt so sorry for the 12 members of the choir on that boat - they were soaked to the skin and still managed to sing and put a smile on their faces.
ReplyDeleteThink they could have had the thrones on the Royal Barge at the side so the Queen and Prince Philip could have sat down to watch all the boats passing by. They were never used as they facing the wrong way. It was such a shame they had to stand for so long at their ages. Surprised that none of them caught the flu!!!!
Concert last night was fantastic.
Loved reading your impressions of this once in a lifetime event......she is one classy lady!
ReplyDeleteA great card for the jubilee Kath, very nice and so classy .Aud x
ReplyDeleteI love seeing all the news coverage here in the U.S. of the Diamond Jubilee. It's very inspiring and makes me wish I could party with the Brits, too. You certainly do know how to throw a big bash that honors your wonderful queen and her family!
ReplyDeleteLove your card Kath - Hope you've enjoyed all the coverage of the Jubilee as much as I have.

Fabulous card Kath! It's been rainy here in my part of the US so I've been cuddled up watching the Jubilee as well. They haven’t shown near enough of it for me. I agree you Brits can’t be beat when it comes to Pomp and Pageantry. What an amazing lady your Queen is.
