is my idea of heaven but lately we've had to setttle for the "sitting on the radiator" variety due to the over abundance of that "putting a spanner in the works" ingredient....RAIN. The word "SUMMER" used to mean about 3 months of long warmish sunny days...time for a bit a name change I think...GLUMMER seems to be more appropriate. I'm not asking for "in the hundreds" temperatures...right now I'd settle for just dry but that doesn't look like it's going to happen anytime soon. So with my glummer face on I'm off to load up the washing machine...unload the dishwasher and tumble dryer and any other boring household chore I can fit into the next 2 hours before it's time for yet another of those "soaked to the skin" morning strolls followed by another day in the cubbyhole watching the rain run down the window.
And in a vain attempt to bring some summer cheer...I'm sharing a card I made from the "Pretty Little Prints" Project Kit from Craftwork Cards...fingers crossed that the adorable ALFIE BEAR and his butterfly chums can coax the sun out from behind all those clouds...
oops...sorry Alfie...have just noticed the shocking hair cut I gave you...
...morning Kath we have Glummer down here on the South Coast too!...gorgeous card, the new project papers are yummy & the candi is so so pretty...hope you & Buddy have a fabby day despite the weather's offerings...Mel :)
ReplyDeleteHi Kath look at me online at this time! I've got to work today on my day off so I've actually come on to put my Totally Gorjuss card on the DT blog. I'm easily sidetracked. Love that little Alfie bear, just perfect for kiddie (and big kiddie) cards.
ReplyDeleteI'll come home to a smelly house tonight I think. The only thing that smells worse than a wet dog is two wet dogs!!
Kat xx
Hi Kath a lovely card so sweet x
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card Kath, love that cute bear and the colours are really pretty
ReplyDeleteSue
Love the cute card.
ReplyDeleteIt's raining here in my end of Scotland too.
"Dreach" (spelling?) is a better description of our summers Kath, but that does make us glummer. I hope your next walk is a drier one, damp dog isn't the best smell, I've 2 that were out for about 3 or 4 minutes last night. The heavens opened and they were drenched by the time we got back in, we towelled them down, and the walk was abandoned!
Well if Alfie Bear and his gorgeous butterfly friends can't do it then no-one can! Love your card, gorgeous colours and done with your usual flair, it is beautiful. We had a sunny and very humid day yesterday - but today it is set to rain. Where is our summer?? Crafty hugs, Anne x
ReplyDeleteFabulous creation Kath. Glummer is a great word and so apt with all this horrid rain about. Hugs x
ReplyDeleteyup, I'm getting pretty sick of not being able to see the end of my garden for fog too
ReplyDeletelet's hope it improves - or I'll be round the twist stuck in the house with these kids all summer

Lovely card Kath, he is just gorgeous sitting amongst the pretty papers. Even the plants are looking washed out with all this rain. Carolxx
ReplyDeleteLove the look of that mug with the flower pot & Buddy -
ReplyDeletewe've got the same - don't think I know what DRY is & as for seeing the mountains - they're shrouded in clouds!
Anyhow I don't think Alfie minded his haircut & his little winged friends look super with him.

ReplyDeletesweet card. I am also sick of the rain. Heading to Banff in caravan next week so hoping it brightens up :0(
ReplyDeleteA lovely card and I like your paper piecing too. x
ReplyDeleteNot the best of days to do some shopping therapy (no craft shops) in Aberdeen but most of my time was spent sitting in cafe's drinking tea.
ReplyDeleteYour card is so adorable and love the papers and of course Alfie.
Hopefully it will clear up by the end of the week because this weather is so depressing.
Alfie is so cute and love the paper pieceing on his feet. Sorry about this Kath but it's been scorching here today 30degrees.
ReplyDeleteHugs Carol xx
