I'm absolutely thrilled for them all and their fantastic support team who deserve a medal too for the years of hard work involved in bringing the horses to Olympic level but I'm especially elated for the indomitable Nick Skelton....
at 54 years old he's showjumping's bionic man...fighting to get back to the level of fitness you need to be a top showjumper after a hip replacement and a near fatal injury proving that he hasn't lost that old Skelly magic with his superstar horse Big Star. He's a true sportsman in every sense of the word and has been a wonderful ambassador for the sport over the years..I'm so pleased he's finally won the accolade he's been chasing throughout his career...that elusive Olympic Gold and the icing on the cake would be if he can lift the Individual Gold on Wednesday...crikey I'd better look out the ear muffs for the Furry Boy.
But back to the crafty stuff which has been taking a bit of a back seat...sharing the rest of the makes from The Ribbon Girl's Mini Makes Kit
I've used up all the felt in the kit...every last little bit...not one little inch went to waste making...
and a sewing tidy for my needles which are another item of cubbyhole kit
and I still have oodles of ribbon and little bits and pieces left to play with on other projects...a great value for money kit...I can't wax lyrical enough about the felt...it's just so touchy feely soft and gorgeous quality...these kits are a crafty girl's version of shoes...you definitely need one in every colour.
but I need to go and consult my Olympic Sofa Marathon Viewing List and co-ordinate it with the "off to the park to play football with Grandad" time. See you all tomorrow
Hugs Kath xxx
Congratulations to the Brits! Well riden!
ReplyDeleteYou have been busy...my goodness.
Funny you showed your patio set today. I have been running about like a mad women trying to get the lawn and garden beds thoroughly drenched as we leave for the lake tomorrow.
34 degrees here, so the garden has been parched and watering is 4 am (yes, that's not a typo) till 9 am.
I sat outside on the patio set this morning, sipping my coffee and taking a few minutes just for me! It felt great!!!
I saw that one and it was great! Love your sewing projects, the needle case is lovely. Have a great day both of you.

ReplyDeleteHi Kath,I haven't watched many of the games but love to hear the spectators cheer them on. I was beyond myself watching Andy Murray win,it's great to see their expressions when that madal goes roung their neck.I always get a bit weepy, must be my age. Anyway , love your wee bits that you've made from the felt, the colours are really pretty, not colours you often see in the shops. You sound as though you have your own olympics going on today hope the sun shines for you.

ReplyDeleteIt certainly was edge of your seat stuff yesterday wasn’t it Kath and such a perfect result. The best thing is that we know we have some fantastic young riders in the ranks for future competitions.
ReplyDeleteGlad you still managed to fit in a bit of crafting between all the excitement and come up with some wonderful ideas for ways to use the mini kits.
Happy Crafting!
