Another Give-Away...

Hi folks...can you believe we're into the 8th month of the year already and who was I kidding when I predicted that the DIY project would all be done and dusted by now...looks like the project manager has failed miserably in the Grand Design Stakes to bring it all in on time never mind on budget...probably because I underestimated the time it takes to paint just ONE DOOR but I'm looking on the bright side...3 doors down and number 4 just needs a shiny coat of gloss and that's the family room finished...
just 2 more doors to go in the little hallway and the finishing line is in sight...hoop-dee-do I'll be dancing on the ceiling...running around like a loon and I may even pop a cork or two in celebration...BUT hang on a minute...thoughts of celebrating may well be a bit premature...there's a little niggling doubt floating around in my head...do I really like this pale cream colour...NOT SURE...do I wish I'd gone for a more light mushroomish hue...PERHAPS...do I want to paint the walls all over again...DEFINITELY NOT...will it grow on me...MAYBE or will it drive me crazy and in 6 month's time I'll be doing it all over again...WHO KNOWS. It's decision time and while I ponder...a cuppa and a quick scan through this month's copy of Craft Stamper is what I fancy and guess what...they've doubled up on the delivery again...I need to get on the phone and see what's going on...
but it does mean that you can have a copy too along with the free stamp which is rather gorgeous...leave me a comment here before 8pm on Saturday 3rd August and I'll announce the winner on Sunday.

    Look on the bright side. Should you decide the wall colour just isn't to your liking, you can easily change it without having to redo the wood trim since you've gone with a bright, clean white on those. You did admit the doors have been your Achilles Heel and not the walls -- so not all is lost.

    It's sad that you are not happy with the colour on the walls after all the hard work you have put into decorating. Hope it grows on you, just think of all the upheaval doing it again. I think it is amazing so try to live with it a while.

    I always read your blog first everyday for inspiration as I love the variety and styles of all of your cards. Your decorating is looking brilliant - makes me want to redecorate. OMG - guess what?     Maybe the colour will grow on you! At least it's "easily" changed if it doesn't.

    Your family room looks gorgeous, and the other rooms too. Like something out of a glossy (sorry to use that word) magazine. You couldn't live in my house - we average about 15 years between spells of decorating! The colour will grow on you I'm sure, and if not it's only a coat of emulsion!

    Hi just a thought....we take the doors off the hinges, lay them flat on a table and roller them with a gloss roller because they are nice and small rollers.

    Good you can see light at the end of the tunnel. I love the cream look, mushroom always looks dirty to me. I hope you're not paying twice for the magazine x

    I think all your hard work has turned out beautifully! Such a fresh and soothing color...I'm sure when you get to the cork popping stage, you will be able to sit back and look at it afresh. How does Buddy feel about it? Although you should probably wait until the paint fumes have had time to clear out of that sensitive nose of his before you ask his opinion ;)

    Kath, can I just say for what it's worth, I think your room is looking fabulous and the lovely soft colours you have used look fabulous against that soft creamy colour which has a pretty hint of warmth about it whilst still being light. (The mag looks full of stamping goodness!). Hugs, Sue x

    Cream - nice and bright. Mushroom ... also lovely but not so bright on dark winter days, but that's just my opinion! I'm quite sure you'll work it out eventually Kath. Well done on all your DIY efforts - your house is looking lovely. Julie xxx
