Simon Says...Home Sweet Home

Hi Everyone...welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog...thank you for joining us for last week's "It's A Frame Up" Challenge...we hope you can join us this week too because...

and the theme for this week is...
HOME SWEET HOME
I had lots of fun creating a framed panel to hang in my craft room using the amazing Sizzix/Tim Holtz Cityscape Suburbia and Commute Thinlits dies. I started off by adding torn strips of paper from the Idea-ology Memoranda Stash Pad and Suburbia die-cuts...cut from white cardstock to a panel of Distress Watercolor Card using Collage Medium Matte and applied a thin wash of White Gesso.
I smooshed Peeled Paint Distress Oxide on to my non-stick craft mat, spritzed with water and pounced the craft mat on to the card surface, dried, spritzed and pounced again until I was happy with the effect...
turned the card over and repeated with Broken China and Faded Jeans to create the sky...
I used Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Scribbles and Spirals inked with Faded Jeans and Birch and Pine inked with Walnut Stain to create some interest on the background...
I delved into my "bulk buy" stash of the original manila tags which I've been neglecting since the new Media Heavystock tags came to market and had a fun session creating lots of Distress Oxide backgrounds...
die cut the buildings along with their accessories and settled down with a cuppa...my trusty precision tipped bottle of Multi Medium Matte and sticky pick up tool to put them together...believe me when I say...this was a heart in my mouth "no sudden movements...no sneezing or tail-wagging from the Furry Boy" adventure...
I fixed some down flat...others with 3D foam to create dimension (how adorable is that washing line of cute clothes) and then created shadows around the buildings in the background using the Ground Espresso Distress Marker and Ranger Detailer Water Brush. I then decided to stamp the word "Home" with Tim's Block Lower Foam Stamps using Ground Espresso Distress Paint...immediately realised I'd made a bigga-mistakea...crikey was I going to have to start all over...
after the initial panic...the drastic measures lightbulb switched on...I die cut a Stitched Oval and used Alphanumeric Thinlits to die cut letters from white cardstock...created shadows with my black fineliner pen and voila...who would ever know.
I added Washi Tape from my stash along the bottom of the panel and the plane and cars from Cityscape Commute...

Idea-ology Label Letters...
Idea-ology Typography Findings...
Idea-ology Design Tape Chatter fixed to white cardstock and cut out to create individual words.
