Simon Says...Easter/Spring Inspiration

Hi Everyone...welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog...thank you for joining us for last week's challenge...we hope you can join us this week too because...

and the theme for this week is...
EASTER/SPRING INSPIRATION
and our lovely team mate Zoey made a gorgeous mood board to inspire you
I can't wait for Spring to arrive and I'm looking forward to drinking my first coffee of the day out in the sunshine with the birds, bees and my Furry Partner for company and that was the inspiration for my art journal page in my new Dylusions Journal.
I started off by spritzing Distress Resist Spray through the Hive Layering Stencil (remember you need to spray within some sort of container and either wash your stencil immediately or place it in a container of water.
I coloured the pages with Twisted Citron, Fossilized Amber and Evergreen Bough Distress Oxide inks using mini round blending tools and added Idea-ology Remnants Design Tape.
I stamped the Slate background from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Slate &Stone randomly on the pages using Vintage Photo Archival Ink.
and the script stamp from Entomology with Evergreen Bough Distress Oxide.
I roughly cut out the images I wanted to use from the Idea-ology Botanical Collage Paper and coloured them on the reverse using Distress Oxide inks and a waterbrush. I then traced around the edges of each image with the waterbrush and gently teased away the excess with my fingernail but you can use scissors if you feel more comfortable with that.
I fixed the beautiful botanical images in place with Distress Collage Medium Matte and wow wow wow...I had a real "I'm in love" moment. I then applied Ranger Opague Texture Paste through the Bricked Mini Layering Stencil from Set 3 and once it was dry, created shadows in the crevices with a Walnut Stain Distress Crayon.
I used Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide and the Mosaic Mini Layering Stencil from Set 28 to add more interest in the background and to tie in with the pink flowers at the bottom of the page
I used the Stamp Platform to stamp the words on to Idea-ology Collage Paper using a selection of letters from Idea-ology Cut Out Lower, Block Lower and Block Upper Cling Foam Stamps inked with Black Soot Archival Ink
cut them out and fixed to the pages with Distress Collage Medium Matte.
and highlighted the letters with dots using a Sakura White Gelly Roll Pen.
I also stamped the bees from Entomology on to Collage Paper, coloured the bodies from behind with Fossilized Amber Distress Oxide ink, cut them out (I love fussy cutting and luckily they all still have six legs) and fixed to the pages.

I created splatters with Evergreen Bough and Fossilized Amber Distress Oxides and White Gesso.
