Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous - Vintage Holidays

Hi my friends, it's me again, back to share another card I made for the Facebook Live launch of Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Christmas 2020 release, using this adorable traditional Santa from Vintage Holidays. If you missed the Facebook Live, you can always catch up with all the new stamps and stencils and the amazing makes over on Tim's blog HERE.

I trimmed Distress Watercolor card to 4.1/2" x 6.1/2" and sprayed with Antique Linen and Frayed Burlap Distress Oxide Sprays to create a light neutral background. I inked the Santa image from Vintage Holidays with Black Soot Distress Archival and stamped on to the panel and again on to a piece of vellum. I lined up the vellum over the stamped image on the panel, trimmed to fit and tore from the left top corner,  making sure to keep the stamped images aligned. I created a mask for Santa and once it was in place, I stamped the Ephemera images from the stamp using Barn Door and Ground Espresso Distress Archival inks. I fixed the vellum to the panel using small dots of Distress Collage Medium Matte, inked the stars and snow splatters from the stamp set with Distress Embossing ink, stamped randomly on the panel and heat embossed with Ranger Rose Gold Embossing Powder.
I tapped Peeled Paint Distress Paint around the edge of the panel and while it was still wet, dusted with Rose Gold Embossing Powder and heat set.
I re-stamped Santa, inked with Black Soot Distress Archival, on to a scrap of Distress Watercolor card, sprinkled with Ranger Superfine Clear Embossing Powder and heat set. I coloured the image with Barn Door, Peeled Paint, Black Soot, Hickory Smoke and Vintage Photo Distress Re-inkers using a Distress Detailer Brush and fussy cut.
I fixed him in place over the original stamped image using Distress Collage Medium Matte. At this point, I felt that the stamped Ephemera in the background wasn't prominent enough so I re-stamped on to scraps of Distress Watercolor card using Barn Door and Ground Espresso Distress Archival inks, coloured some with Peeled Paint Distress Re-inker and fixed over the original stamped images to create dimension.
I added Idea-ology Christmas Remnant Rubs and matted the panel on a slightly larger panel of Red Classic KraftStock and fixed to a 5" x 7" white card blank covered with Idea-ology Gold Metallic KraftStock.

Happy Crafting and have fun with your Christmas makes

Hugs Kath xxx
