Peace And Love At Christmas

Hi my friends, I'm back to share another card using the CZ Designs Peace die and Slimline Sentiment Strips from Simon Says Stamp Holly Jolly Release and you can check out all the fabulous stamps, stencils and dies from the release HERE. I also used Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Retro Flakes and the new Distress White HeavyStock, which is amazing by the way, and Distress Inks to create the background on a slimline card.

I began by trimming Distress White HeavyStock to 3.3/4" x 8.3/4" and heat embossed Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Retro Flakes with Ranger Superfine White and Simon Says Antique Gold Embossing Powders. I smooshed Chipped Sapphire, Faded Jeans, Broken China and Tumbled Glass Distress inks on to the craft mat on my glass media mat, spritzed with water, laid the panel into the inks and dried. I went back in several times to pick up the remaining droplets of ink, drying between layers until I was happy with the background. And oh boy, does this new heavystock card love Distress inks.
I die-cut the base section of the Peace die twice from Simon Says Stamp Vellum coloured with Chipped Sapphire Distress ink and the word section 3 times from Distress Watercolor card and layered to create dimension.
I die-cut the houses and tree from Distress Watercolor card using Simon Says Stamp Village, tucked under the Peace letters and fixed to the panel using Distress Collage Medium.
To finish I matted the panel on to Simon Says Stamp Soft Navy Cardstock scored and folded to create a 4" x 9" Slimline card and added the sentiments trimmed from Simon Says Stamp Slimline Sentiment Strips.

Tonight, is the reveal of the new colour to join the Distress family, so if you're excited as I am, join Tim and Mario for the Facebook Live reveal at 10.00am PST or 6.00pm if you're in the UK.
