Tim Holtz/Sizzix Chapter 3 - Perspective Moth

Hi my friends, I'm sharing the shaker card I made for the YouTube Live launch of Tim Holtz/Sizzix Chapter 3 using Perspective Moth and Leafy Twigs Thinlits. I'm sure you will agree that our adorable Professor has done it again with another amazing release, there's something to suit everyone's taste and if you missed the Live, you can catch up with the products and all the inspirational projects from the makers over on Tim's YouTube Channel HERE.

I began by trimming Distress Watercolor card to create 7 - 4.3/4" x 6" panels and die-cut using Leafy Twigs Thinlits. I only needed one Leafy Twigs panel for the card, so set aside the rest to use on future projects.
I smooshed Shabby Shutters, Peeled Paint and Forest Moss Distress inks on to the craft mat of my Glass Media Mat, spritzed with water, dipped the panel and frame into the inks repeatedly and dried.
I trimmed an acetate panel to the same size as the frame and fixed the frame and leafy twigs panel in place with Distress Collage Medium Matte. I flipped the panel, fixed the extra frame sections in place, added a selection of  Sizzix Beads and Sequins and a panel of Idea-ology Abandoned paper to enclose the shaker elements.
I attached Sizzix Adhesive Sheet to Distress Watercolor card and Idea-ology Gold Metallic Kraft/Stock. I die-cut Tim Holtz/Sizzix Perspective Moth, coloured the die-cut on the right with Walnut Stain Distress ink and sprinkled randomly with a mix of Walnut Stain and Fired Brick Embossing Glazes and heat set.  The self adhesive sheet on the centre die-cut has held all the negative pieces in place allowing me to lightly colour the die-cut with Kitsch Flamingo and Peeled Paint Distress inks using a mini round blending tool.
I assembled the die-cut and popped the negative pieces from the Idea-ology Gold Metallic KraftStock die-cut into place on the moth's head and body. I added splatters of Tarnished Brass Distress Paint over the moth, sprinkled with Gold Embossing Powder and heat set. I added brown thread, fixed the moth in place with foam adhesive to create dimension and trimmed off the excess on the left hand side of the panel.
I scribbled the Distress Embossing Pen over an Idea-ology Stencil Chip, sprinkled with Kitsch Flamingo, Peeled Paint and Walnut Stain Embossing Glazes, did the little dance with my fingers on the back to mix the colours and heat set.
I stamped the sentiments from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Tiny Text, inked with Ground Espresso Distress Archival on to Distress Watercolor and trimmed.
I fixed the Idea-ology Stencil Chip and sentiments in place with Distress Collage Medium.

To finish I added foam adhesive to the back of the panel and matted on to a white card blank trimmed to be slightly larger than the shaker panel.

I'll be back soon to share more of the makes I made for the Live, in the meantime, happy shopping and have fun when your dies arrive.
Hugs Kath xxx
