Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous - Mod Cactus

Hi my friends, I'm back to share another card I made for the YouTube Live launch of new stamps and stencils from Tim Holtz and Stampers Anonymous using the super cute Mod Cactus. If you missed the live launch, you can check out the new release and amazing projects from all the makers over on Tim's blog HERE.

This is such a fun set and prompted me to make a trio of "play on words" cards.
I began by trimming Distress Watercolor card slightly smaller than A2 card blanks, inked the circle image from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Brushstrokes with Scattered Straw Distress Oxide ink, spritzed with water and stamped on to each panel. I stamped the solid images from the stamp set inked with Peeled Paint, Rusty Hinge and Carved Pumpkin Distress Oxides.
I stamped the outline images inked with Black Soot Distress Archival. The outlines are not a perfect match for the solids and there is no right or wrong, stamp slightly to the left, slightly to the right, slightly up or down, it's supposed to look scribbly so...you do you...as our adorable Professor would say.
I applied Carved Pumpkin Distress Oxide ink lightly through the Nature Layering Stencil using a mini round blending tool and a domed foam.
I stamped the flowers from the set with Ripe Persimmon, Spiced Marmalade, Twisted Citron and Peeled Paint Distress Inks.
I fixed Sizzix Adhesive Sheet to Idea-ology Black Classic KraftStock and die-cut the sentiments using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Tiny Type Lower Thinlits.
I stamped the flower images randomly on to the backgrounds, added dots in the centre using a Black Sakura Glaze Pen, matted the panels on to black Classic KraftStock trimmed to be slightly bigger and fixed to the A2 white card blanks.

I'll be back tomorrow to share cards made with the gorgeous Floral Outline stamp from the new release. in the meantime, have fun with whatever you are creating.
Hugs Kath xxx
