Simon Says "Happy Hello" March Card Kit

Happy Wednesday my friends, I'm sharing a card made using products from Simon Says - Happy Hello March Card Kit. The kit is still available to purchase over at Simon Says Stamp and the individual items from the kit can also be purchased separately HERE.

I love the folk art style of the Happy Hello 6" x 8" stamp set and decided to use Lost Shadow, the newest colour to join the Distress Family, a great neutral, paired with Fossilized Amber and Black for a cool look.

spritzed Lost Shadow Distress Spray Stain and Distress Oxide Spray on to the craft mat on my Glass Media Mat, spritzed with water and dragged A2 panels of Distress Watercolor card through the inks and dried to create neutral backgrounds.
inked the large heart image from the Happy Hello stamp set with Lost Shadow Distress Ink and stamped randomly on the panel to create a tone on tone background.
I die-cut an aperture from the panel using the shadow of the Happy Wishes die, included in the kit, trimmed the panel to 4" x 5.1/4" and fixed to an A2 panel of Distress Black HeavyStock. I coloured Distress Watercolor card with Fossilized Amber Distress Oxide ink using the direct to paper technique and die cut the Happy Wishes words. I die-cut the words again 3 times from Distress Watercolor card, layered to create dimension and fixed inside the aperture using Distress Collage Medium.
I stamped the flowers and stems from Happy Hello, inked with Fossilized Amber Distress Oxide and Simon Says Intense Black ink, fussy cut, fixed the outer flowers and stems in place with Distress Collage Medium and the centre flower and stem, popped up on Simon Says Foam Squares.
To finish, I added Trinity Stamps Creamy Vanilla Heart Sprinkles to the centre flower and Happy Wishes sentiment. I trimmed the black heavystock mat down to leave an 1/8" border and fixed to an A2 white card blank.
