Simon Says - Stars and/or Stripes

Hi Everyone...welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog. Thank you for joining us for last week's challenge and we hope you can join us this week too because

and the theme for this week is...

STARS and/or STRIPES

I created a card to wish all my friends in the USA a very Happy 4th of July using Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Ticking and Grain, Mini Stars Layering Stencil from Set 11, Idea-ology Postmarked Sticker Book and Tim Holtz/Sizzix Alphanumeric Bulletin and Tailored Thinlits.

I trimmed Distress Watercolor card to 4" x 5.1/4" and coloured using a Custom Blend ink pad created with Distress and Distress Oxide re-inkers (colours linked below).

I stamped Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Ticking and Grain on to the panel, inked with Barn Door Distress Oxide, coloured the corners with Prize Ribbon Distress Oxide using a Mini Round Blending Tool, add water splatters and dried.

I applied Distress Grit Paste Opaque through the Stars Mini Layering Stencil from Set 11.

I added stamps from Tim Holtz/Idea-ology Postmarked Sticker Book.

I die-cut USA from Distress Watercolor card and card coloured with Prize Ribbon Distress Oxide ink using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Alphanumeric Bulletin Thinlits and fixed in place with Simon Says Thin 3D Foam Squares to create dimension.

I die-cut the top hat from Prize Ribbon coloured card, added stripes to the hand band with a Barn Door Distress Watercolor Pencil, shaded with Scorched Timber Distress Ink using a Tiny Blending Tool and fixed to the panel with Thin Foam Squares.

I added splatters of Dina Wakley White Gloss Spray, Tim Holtz/Idea-ology Small Talk Stickers and stars die-cut using Simon Says Stamp Falling Stars.Tim Holtz/Sizzix Falling Stars. To finish I coloured the edges of an A2 white card blank with Prize Ribbon Distress Oxide ink and fixed the panel in place.
