Friendship

Friendship is one of the things in this world that money can't buy......you can have all the wealth in the world but life without friendships isn't worth living and when I opened the lovely card from my gorgeous bloggy bud Alison last night....I must confess I was overcome with emulsion...gorgeous card and a beautiful sentiment ...thanks so much Alison.....will treasure it forever....I feel truly blessed that through this blogging malarkey I have made such lovely friendships and just wish that I could meet you all....such love and kindness in abundance.....oh I feel the emulsion coming on again.

And to prove my point...Sir Fred "The Shred" may be rubbing his greedy hands and sitting in his counting house counting all the money that he has...and there is no other word for it.....STOLEN from you and me....but hey I take great comfort from the fact that I bet his so called "hanging on his coat tail" friends are deserting him big time because they are probably the same money grabbing low lifes....and if he has any true friends....they would be sitting him down and telling him a few home truths.
Lots of work to catch up on over the weekend but will be back to show some of the lovelies that I bought yesterday........in the meantime.....big hugs to all my bloggy buds
From your quite a bit poorer

Papertake Weekly Challenge

Hi Folks....back in business with the challenges and another one done and dusted.....the challenge this week on Papertake Weekly is.......a colour combo

PINK, ORANGE AND BROWN.....
HOT CHOCOLATE !!!
which I mis-read....only the Orange and Brown registered in this old brain.....it wasn't until I uploaded my card onto the computer and went to do the link.....I noticed there was Pink too.....oh sugar... and believe me....that wasn't what I said. Brown is one of my fave colours...orange not but they do work great together and ...... you know...me thinks I like it and I managed to fit in a little bit of pink with the Prima flowers....it's called feeking....and if you don't know what that means....here is the definition.......to correct a mistake by making it look as though it was meant to be.....a crafting technical term....I use all the time.....
Papers: WeR Memory Keepers
Dark Brown Cardstock
Image: Hero Arts
stamped with Tim Holtz Distressed Ink and slightly
brushed out with a water brush
Flowers: Prima
The moral of the story is......always read the instructions carefully before you begin....must take a note of that in my little Miss Memory Book......I really need to write everything down these days but big problem when I forget to take MMB with me....
The weather here is turning decidedly colder and the forecast aint good.....hope it doesn't decide to start dumping lots of snow before Thursday.......I need to get to the SECC......am not worried about getting home.....another few days at the show wouldn't upset me at all.....catch up with you all tomorrow for some sneaky peeks.
P.S. Just been on Lorraine's blog and yikes...have they got snow in Glasgow.....so cosy boots looked out for tomorrow and better warn hubby....may be missing for a few days.
Another P.S. to answer Suzanne's question....the sentiment is all part of the one stamp but you could mask it out if you wanted.

The Big Reveal

Believe me.....when I was sanding down doors and painting everything in sight.....I never thought that this day would arrive.....but here we go.......DA....DA.....time for the big reveal.....MY NEW SNUGGY SPACE....

This is my sofa......where I rest my weary bum
and partake of a coffee or two
This is Buddy's sofa and he claimed it seconds
after it arrived...hubby manages to grab a small space
now you have to use your imagination.....because there are no lamps.....the ones from M& S are going back......they are far too big for the room.......no pictures or little bits and pieces yet....but I so love the neutral chocolate colour combo and hey the red just makes it pop....so that's it folks....no more talk of decorating.....hopefully it's back to crafting mode......and it's a short post today.....no long sagas.....nothing to rant about.......just lots of work to get done before Thursday.....so off to the cubbyhole to CRAFT.
Catch up with you all tomorrow.....Hugs Kath xxxxxxx
P.S.  Can't believe that Roxanne and DAN....the man were voted off last night.....I am devastated.....have to wait a whole year to see "my sex on skates" again.

Alison Needs Our HELP

My lovely bloggy bud ALISON is collecting cards to send to our brave troops in Iraq and Afghanistan...

HERE IS WHAT ALISON HAS TO SAY.......

I live on a small island on the west coast of Scotland. My local branch of the British Legion are currently sending parcels to Iraq and Afghanistan for the British troops and I asked if they would like some cards to put in the boxes for the troops to send home to their loved ones or kids. To know that we can put a smile on someone's face receiving a card from there loved ones that are so far away warms my heart. So what do you think girls, can we make them some cards? If you can help me out by sending me one or two cards it would be very much appreciated. Just a couple of things to remember about the cards

Cards sizes that are suitable A6, 6" square or smaller, 7 x 5
The inside of the card must be blank, you can put a paper insert in
if you wish but just leave it blank
I'm sure that we all have loads of cards that we have made for challenges or such...so let's dig them out and send them off to Alison and show some bloggy love for all the troops trying to do their jobs in very difficult circumstances...so pop over and visit Alison for more details on how to send your card(s).

Toot....Toot

Well the family room has had a make-over and I will be back tomorrow with the big reveal.....so I thought the old blog needs one too....a little birthday present from me......do you like it.....only thing is......I am the only one who hasn't had a make-over....but you are speaking....not just a lick of paint....but buckets and buckets of polyfilla...or mega bucks at some Harley Street Clinic......so the old face will just have to stay.....I've been looking at it for 60 years now and we have kinda gotten used to each other although the mirror isn't being too flattering this morning after our wild party night at Stampin Chic.....hope you all had a good time and not too many sore heads this morning......Up with the lark......lots to do today........can you believe it's the 1st of March already.....oh I'm waffling now.....

And surprise...surprise....a card to share with you today.....a big toot....toot.....for a very clever girl who has just passed her driving test......

and oh boy does that bring back memories.....I passed first time at age 50 so nearly 10 years ago and believe me.....no one was more surprised than me......I had a wonderful instructor....with a great sense of humour and the patience of a saint but I thought I would never master it and when I heard those magic words "I am pleased to tell you that you have passed your driving test"....wow I was so shocked but absolutely thrilled.  The examiner was a lovely sweet man but very very very large...and the vehicle was a Renault Clio.....so he was taking up more than his fair share of the space.....and everytime I changed gear.....my hand rubbed against his leg.....folks will say that was the only reason I passed.....but you wouldn't believe that....would you?
And a gorgeous award from three sweet bloggy buds
big thank you to Teresa ...Anne  and Peggy   for thinking of me....really appreciate it girls....I am supposed to pass this on...but you know me.....I could never choose between all the lovely folks in bloggyland.....so if you are passing this way.......please take it for your blog with all my love.
Off to get some DT stuff done for next week......oh I know it's Sunday.....but I am having a day off on Thursday....off to the SECC to catch up with all my Fiskars and Bloggy buddies .....so need to get ahead of the game and then off this afternoon to visit my special little fellas.....so catch up with you all later.
