A Race Against The Clock...

Hi Everyone...it's another late to the party blog post this morning because the "on his last warning" wonky alarm clock struck again last night at 4.00am. I snuck back to bed...snuggled down and didn't surface until 9.00am...I'm currently feeling like I've been run over by a truck and way behind with today's crafty list. It's going to be another glorious sunshiney day but no sitting soaking up some Vitamin D for me...I'll be racing against the clock to finish off yesterday's crafty project while the cubbyhole is still cool...

because once the sun hits the front of the house...our little crafty space turns into a sauna and crafting in your underwear is out of the question when there's no blind on the window.
And where is the naughty boy who needs to be returned to the Golden Retriever factory to have his alarm clock reset...silly question...where else but out in the sunshine having a nap...
Have a great weekend everyone...I hope the sun is shining where you are and I'll see you all on Monday with my DT project for Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge.
Toodle-oo for now

No News Is Good News...

Hi folks...you're probably familiar with the phrase "No News Is Good News" but it certainly doesn't apply to the current state of affairs in the cubbyhole...the new flooring has arrived and is safely stashed in the only available space...behind the sofa in the front room....much to hubby's dismay...
and the carpet tiles in the cubbyhole have gone to the skip in preparation for the arrival of the joiner...
but considering there's been no phone call...it isn't looking hopeful for this week and the man with the buckets of plaster seems to have disappeared off the planet. But instead of tearing my hair out and sitting in a corner with my thumb in my mouth...I'm a bit too old to have a toddler tantrum...don't you think...I've been doing what I always do in times of stress...getting my hands mucky making lots of Distress Oxide backgrounds for a marathon die-cutting session...
and then it's "nobody move...sneeze...make any sudden movements and definitely no Furry Boy tail-wagging" construction time...
I'm trying to keep myself busy and get as many DT and magazine projects nailed...trying to get ahead of the game before the errant tradesmen finally make an appearance and the cubbyhole is totally out of bounds.
And I'm still trying to come up with a solution for the wonky alarm clock otherwise known as The Furry Boy...
my adorable "butter wouldn't melt" pudding face hooligan has just kicked things up a notch and for the past two nights has been wide awake...bouncing on and off with the bed with that "come on Mum-it's time for breakfast" look on his face at...wait for it...4.00am...
and if he's thinking about scoring a hat-trick tonight...the gloves are off and one of us will be spending their nights in the garden shed and just for the record it won't be ME.

Simon Says...The Great Outdoors

Hi Everyone...welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog...thank you for joining us for last week's challenge...we hope you can join us this week too because...

and the theme for this week is...
THE GREAT OUTDOORS
think trees, deep blue skies, fields of flowers and stunning landscapes.

The Design Team are showcasing PaperArtsy products this week, you don't have to use them to join in the fun but if you have them we would love to see how you use them.
And we are welcoming a new Guest Designer for the month of May,,, the fabulous and very talented Dr Sonia aka Cards, Crafts, Kids Projects ...pop over to her blog, you are in for a real treat.

The great outdoors for me means spending time out in my garden or long walks in the forest with my Furry Companion and I decided to make a card for a special friend who also loves the great outdoors and has a birthday coming up soon.
I sprinkled Limoncello and A Bit Jaded Infusions randomly on to one of my favourite PaperArtsy/Eclectica stencils PS001 from the Lin Brown Collection and spritzed with water...
laid it on to a piece of thick card I had already cut to size and pressed lightly giving the Infusions time to soak into the card...
I then sprinkled Limoncello Infusions on to the circle icon stamp from ELB34...spritzed with water and stamped on to the card.
Once the Infusions were dry. I pounced a mixture of  PaperArtsy Dusty Teal and Snowflake Fresco Finish chalk paints through Stencil PS 044
I stamped the sentiment from ELB31 with Black Archival Ink on to the card using The Misti, reinked the stamp with Versamark and heat embossed with Ranger Clear Embossing Powder.

I stamped the square icons from ELB31 twice with Black Archival moving the stamp slightly to the left on the second stamping to create a shadow effect.  I stamped the Distressed Dots with Versmark Ink and heat embossed with Ranger White Embossing Powder.
And I couldn't NOT use a little bit of Tim Holtz so I coloured a piece of Tim Holtz Plain Tissue Wrap with Infusions Limoncello and Sunset Beach and fixed to a piece of copy paper with Distress Collage Medium Matte...
and die cut using Sizzix/Tim Holtz Tattered Florals Die. I repeated with Infusions A Bit Jaded...stamped the leaf image from ELB31 with Black Archival...heat embossed with Ranger Clear Embossing Powder and cut out.
I added splatters of PaperArtsy Snowflake and Little Black Dress Fresco Finish Chalk Paints...a large pearl brad from my stash to the centre of the large flower...smaller brads to the centres of the stencilled flowers and stamped circles around them using Little Black Dress and a paint bottle cap.

You can find all the products I used over at the fabulous Simon Says Stamp online store...just click on the links below...
