Simon Says - Spooky

Hi Everyone...welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog. Thank you for joining us for last week's challenge and we hope you can join us this week too because

and the theme for this week is...
SPOOKY
I decorated a Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Mini Etcetera Tag to tell the story of the spooky house where a strange woman lives with her batty friends, would you brave enough to visit?  I used Tim Holtz Idea-ology Backdrops Vol 4, Stampers Anonymous Bricked and Mini Fractured Layering Stencils with Distress Grit Paste Crypt and Distress Black Texture Paste, Idea-ology Halloween Layers and Paper Dolls, Idea-ology Broomsticks and Bouquet Findings.

covered the Mini Etcetera Tag with a neutral paper from Idea-ology Backdrops Vol.4 using Distress Collage Medium and once dry, sanded the edges to remove the excess paper.
I applied Distress Grit Paste Crypt through the Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Bricked Layering Stencil.
I added Clippings Stickers from the Tim Holtz/Idea-ology Halloween Sticker Book and applied Black Distress Texture Paste through the Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Fractured Mini Layering Stencil from Set 56.
I fussy cut around the frame from the Halloween Layers and Paper Dolls pack and trimmed the Paper Doll to fit inside the frame. I applied a coat of Distress Collage Medium over both, coloured with Ominous Twilight Distress Mica Crayon and Black Soot Distress Crayon using a Detailer Brush and smudged Fallen Acorn Distress Mica Crayon around the edges of the frame using my finger.
I fixed strips of Idea-ology Mummy Cloth using dots of Distress Collage Medium and fixed the frame in place popped up on foam squares to create dimension.
I sanded the numbers from the Layers and Paper Dolls pack, fixed in place with foam squares and added bats from the same pack and Idea-ology Halloween Remnant Rubs.
I tied strips of Mummy Cloth around the handle of the Idea-ology Broomstick and fixed in place using a hot glue gun.
I spritzed Idea-ology Bouquet Findings with Ominous Twilight, Mulled Cider Distress Mica Stains and water and left on kitchen roll to dry.
To finish I fixed the Bouquet Findings Flowers to the broomstick, added splatters of Mulled Cider Distress Mica Stain and googly eyes to the bats.

Hello November

Hello my friends, I don't know about you but it's hard to believe how the fast the months are flying by, we're heading towards November already and before we know it'll be CHRISTMAS. In the meantime, I'm hunkered down in the cubbyhole riding out the latest storm to hit my neck of the woods, high winds and torrential rain is causing havoc, trees down everywhere, rivers bursting their banks, it's definitely stay at home and craft "don't travel unless you absolutely have to" weather. I'm back to share another autumn theme card using Simon Says Stamp Criss Cross Floral Embossing Folder with Mushroom Stems, Leafy Sprig and Scripty Hello dies.

I used the Twisted Citron and Crackling Campfire Distress Oxide ink pads to apply colour to Simon Says Criss Cross Floral Embossing Folder, spritzed with water and embossed on to a panel of Distress Watercolor card, trimmed to 4" x 5.1/4". I die-cut Simon Says Leafy Sprig and Mushroom Stems from Distress Watercolor card, coloured with Rusty Hinge, Crackling Campfire and Walnut Stain Distress Oxide inks using Simon Says Detail Round Blending Brushes and added splatters of Ground Espresso Distress Paint.
I fixed the Leafy Sprigs and Mushroom Stems to the panel using Distress Collage Medium and added splatters of Unravelled Distress Mica Stain.
I die-cut Simon Says CZ Designs Scripty Hello 3 times from black card, layered to create dimension, fixed to the panel and added a sticker from an old Tim Holtz/Idea-ology ChitChat sticker book. I added Ground Espresso Distress Ink around the edges using a mini round blending tool and fixed to an A2 white card blank.

Enjoy your weekend and stay safe if the weather is crazy where you are.

Happy Autumn

Hello my friends, Autumn has definitely arrived, the leaves are changing colour and I was inspired by the fallen leaves in my garden to make an autumn themed card using Simon Says Stamp Criss Cross Floral Embossing Folder, Windswept Leaves and Happy Autumn dies.

I smooshed Twisted Citron, Peeled Paint, Crackling Campfire and Aged Mahogany Distress Oxide inks on to the craft mat on my Glass Media Mat, spritzed with water and pulled Distress Watercolor card, trimmed to 4" x 5.1/4", through the inks and dried. I then tapped the panel back into the inks to pick up the remaining droplets.
I spritzed the back of the panel with water and embossed using Simon Says Criss Cross Floral Embossing Folder and once dry, sanded the detail using Tim Holtz Sanding Disks with a mini round blending tool. I die-cut Simon Says Stamp Windswept Leaves from Distress Watercolor card and coloured with Peeled Paint and Crackling Campfire Distress Oxide inks using Simon Says Detail Round Blending Brushes.
I die-cut Simon Says Happy Autumn from Distress Watercolor card. I coloured the shadow section with Peeled Paint Distress Oxide ink and fixed to the panel along with the Windswept Leaves using Distress Collage Medium. I die-cut the Happy Autumn words 4 times from Distress Watercolor card and layered to create a dimensional sentiment.
I coloured the top layer with Crackling Campfire Distress Oxide ink to create an ombre effect and fixed the sentiment to the shadow section using Distress Collage Medium.
I matted the panel to an A2 white card blank and added Trinity Stamps Coffee Bean Heart Sprinkles.

Happy Crafting whatever you are making

Vintage Christmas

Hello my friends, the weather has turned decidedly chilly here in my neck of the woods. It feels like we are skipping Autumn and heading right into Winter, so I spent the weekend in the cubbyhole doing a bit of catch up crafting. First thing on the list was making swatches for the new sets of Tim Holtz/Ranger Halloween and Holiday Distress Mica Crayons.

I'm also on a mission to use up some of the Idea-ology Christmas Ephemera in my stash from previous years and am sharing a series of Vintage Cards using Christmas Layers and Ephemera, Distress Mica Crayons, Distress Grit Paste and Tim  Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Flurries Mini Layering Stencil from Set 50.
I selected 5 panels from last year's Idea-ology Christmas Layers and fixed to Distress Watercolor card trimmed to 4" x 5.1/4".

I rummaged through my pile of Idea-ology Christmas Remnant Rubs, found some left over white rubs from an old pack that contained black and white Christmas sentiments and applied to all the panels.
I added Idea-ology Christmas Ephemera to each panel, along with Christmas Remnant Rubs and applied a coat of Distress Collage Medium over the panels. I coloured the white section of the panels with Distress Mica Crayons, Specimen and Fallen Acorn on the cards below, Specimen and Fallen Acorn on their own and a mix of Yuletide and Specimen on the last card, scribbling the crayons on and then blending out with my finger. I flicked water on to the Distress Mica Crayons and dabbed with kitchen towel to create the water droplet look. I  added shading around the Christmas Layers and Ephemera using the Distress Crayons, fading the colour out using a Detailer Brush.
To finish I applied Distress Grit Paste through the Flurries Mini Layering Stencil and matted the panels on to A2 white card blanks.

Happy Crafting and have fun with whatever you're making

Simon Says - Text It

Hi Everyone...welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog. Thank you for joining us for last week's challenge and we hope you can join us this week too because

and the theme for this week is...
TEXT IT
I made a fun Halloween card using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Edison Colorize and Artsy Leaves Thinlits. I added lots of text to the background and the leaves using Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Dearly Departed and Idea-ology Remnant Rubs and used Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Christmas Cartoons and Tiny Frights for the speech bubble sentiment.
I trimmed Tim Holtz/Idea-ology Backdrops Vol 4 neutral card to 4" x 5.1/4" and fixed to a panel of white card to make it more stable. I applied Distress Grit Paste Crypt through the Autumn Mini Layering Stencil from Set 22 and once the paste was dry, spritzed the panel with Mulled Cider Distress Mica Stain.
I inked the background from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Ticking and Grain with Rustic Wilderness Distress Archival ink and holding the stamp in my hand, stamped randomly on the panel.
I stamped the script stamp from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Dearly Departed, inked with Versamark, sprinkled with white embossing powder and heat set.
I added Tim Holtz/Idea-ology Remnant Rubs to add more text to the background.
I die-cut the pumpkin from Simon Says Black, Burnt Orange, Orange Peel, Green Apple and Green Leaf cardstock and the clouds 3 times from Distress Watercolor card using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Edison Thinlits, inked the edges with Black Soot Distress ink using a mini round blending tool, assembled and fixed to the panel with black foam squares.
I inked the script stamp from Dearly Departed with Black Soot Distress Archival ink and stamped over scrap pieces of Simon Says Sunshine, Green Apple and Orange Peel cardstock.
I die-cut using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Artsy Leaves, added stems cut from black cardstock and fixed to the panel with Distress Collage Medium and foam squares.
I stamped the speech bubble from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Christmas Cartoons and the text from Tiny Frights, inked with Black Soot Distress Archival, on to a scrap of Green Apple cardstock, fussy cut and fixed to the panel with foam squares.
I added bats die-cut from black cardstock using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Moonlight Thinlits, added splatters of Frozen Fog Distress Mica Stain, matted the panel on to black card trimmed to 1/8" larger and fixed to an A2 white card blank.
