The Magic of Christmas

Morning folks....winter has well and truly returned to this neck of the woods and it looks like we will be having a White Christmas which is magical if you are all snuggly warm indoors and don't have to travel. The countdown to Christmas has started....less than a week to the big day and I bet I am not the only one in major panic mode.   Do I run myself ragged cooking up a Christmas Feast to find that the invited feasters are unable to dig themselves out to get here for Christmas and Boxing Day Dinners and I am forced to gorge myself for the whole of Christmas and New Year just so it doesn't go to waste....or do I just go with the flow....make lots of home-made soup and if they do turn up whip up a round or two of sandwiches....if only I had a crystal ball.
I've been busy giving The Cubbyhole a bit of a Christmas Tidy and came across a whole lot of bauble images from my favourite Christmas Hero Arts Stamp Set..."The Magic of Christmas"...all stamped and embossed with white detail powder....probably done for a demo day and never used but I couldn't let them go to waste....they were perfect for making some last minute quickie cards...

Hero Arts...CL462...The Magic of Christmas
Sentiment....CL459...Merry Christmas Tree
Snowflake...CL464..Sending Holiday Cheer
a little bling....a sprinkling of Glamour Dust and a touch of TH Distress Ink Pumice Stone all made in a twinkling of the eye....but I had loads left so decided to make some cute decorations for the tree....an idea I got from Jennifer McGuire...click HERE for instructions

Catch up with you all tomorrow with my executive decision on the Christmas Cook Fest....and hey I could kiss my postie.

  10. Gorgeous last minute cards Kath and great idea for decorations. I've still got 4 special and 4 small cards to make and wonder if I should make a couple of "just in case" cards! I've got hardly any cards in post and in fact haven't seen my postie since Wednesday. Hubby got stuck in the snow not far from house today so no Sunday paper - and it must be bad cos he never gets stuck even if he has to dig himself out more than once he never gives up! Not optimistic about getting to Catriona's for Christmas now! To crown it all we are very low on heating oil, been waiting for weeks now so most radiators on frost setting.

Bet I'll get to work tomorrow. Road probably get cleared before I need to go to work.

  12. If it me I'd vote for the soup option but my mum is doing lunch and is across the road from me lol. Love the cards and decorations and I'm another pumice stone convert. Take care. I'm sick of the snow.

  16. Hiya Kath
Och I'm sick of this bloomin' snow, I'm going stir crazy, can't get the car out, people are getting stuck left right and centre. There was no bus to work on Friday so had to walk in to town to the surgery here!! The air was crystal blue I can tell ya!!! and the expletives were freezing in the frosty air!! It took me almost 40 minutes to walk there!! and I was nothing more than a walking snowman- Grrr!

Anyway enough already! Love your last minute makes really classy looking.
Hope your cooking dilemma is resolved soon..

Hugs to you and the furry one

  17. Lovely cards Kath love all the sparkle.
I've got the same dilemma here too not sure if my son and his family will get down from N. Wales
The snow here is the worst I have seen in 20yrs. Trouble is the southeners don't cope too well in the snow, they didn't even get the gritters out last night.
