Quelle surprise

Morning folks...all work and no play is tres boring so I had a bit of a "sod the deadlines" moment yesterday...yes time to have some fun....you didn't really think I would manage to resist the temptation of playing along with my hero did you and fingers crossed I may just have time to join in the fun one more time if all goes according to plan.
Here is Tim's Tag for Day 7

It almost went pear shaped before it got started....quelle surprise I don't have the Woodgrain Texture Fade nor do I have the new Adirondack Colour Washes to colour the Sticky Back Canvas....so as the Maestro himself would say...just use what you've got so it was time for some improvisation....  swiped the canvas with the ink pads....spritzed with water and then spritzed again with a Perfect Pearl and water mix using the fab Mini Mister and it worked. I've got everything else so it should be a piece of cake from now on...or so I thought....

Oh dear those famous last words always jump up and hit you between the eyes...the tagathon almost ground to a halt when I sliced my finger during a petal distressing moment with my super duper sharp Fiskars scissors and could I get it to stop dripping blood everywhere....just as well the flowers are red.....memo to self....use His Lordship's Distresser...it's safer.

A few changes along the way to make it my tag instead of an exact replica of his Lordship's and voila....MY FIRST TAG for Timmie's 12 Days of Christmas Tags.

I got a lovely surprise in the mail from my sweet Penny Black Saturday teamie Domi....the very first Christmas Card to arrive in the cubbyhole and woo hooo a pressie too...this gorgeous little missy from Lily Of The Valley.
And talking of Lily Of The Valley I am desperate to get my hands on their fabulous new circular sentiment stamps but everytime I pop across to the website they are SOLD OUT....patience is not one of my virtues and if I see something I like....I want it now....sound familiar.
One more crafty make ticked off the list of things to do.....a quick wedding gift voucher card

What's on today's list.....instructions for the Fiskars projects.....baaah humbug the boring bit and not my most favourite job...my DT card for Penny Black Saturday....another skidding in by the seat of my pants job and then catching up with the boring household stuff that has been rather neglected this week all in the name of art.
And tomorrow is a very special day in the cubbyhole....the long awaited new Hero Arts 2011 catalogue....exciting.

Catch you all later.
Hugs Kath xxx

  10. Fortunately no blood on your fab tag!! Please be careful in future, you can't mis any of those creative fingers. My mom used to say: "did you count your fingers"?( Before using anything sharp);o)I'm amazed though that even you don't own everything His Holtziness throws our way.But then the creativity gets a boost.....

  14. Great tag Kath - shame about the finger, I bet that hurt... (It will be sticking up like the proverbial sore thumb now I bet) it's a good job you're catching up with housework today instead of crafting!!
    Take care.

  16. Hiya Kath

Great tag, real, love how us "mere mortals" have to be more inventive with the stash we have at hand!

We must have both been inspired by the same tag as I have just uploaded my tag on the poinsettia on my blog, not had chance or time to join in with the other ones lol!

Hope you have those creative fingers insured lol!!
