Morning folks...it's been quite a week so far...sad times in the cubbyhole but I've been keeping myself busy with commission projects and there's always a silver lining to every cloud and light at the end of the tunnel. It's not often as you will probably have gathered by now that I am lost for words but right this minute I've been stunned into silence...am absolutely gobsmacked at the kindness of one of my bloggy buddies. The lovely and very talented
Alexandra recently won our Summer Distress Inks give-away and contacted me to ask if she could do a pencil sketch of The Furry Boy as a thank you.
Wowee how kind was that...to say we were thrilled is putting it mildly so I sent off some pics of my bundle of golden deliciousness and oh boy was I blown away when not one but two sketches arrived in the cubbyhole this week...
Words can't describe how I felt when I saw Alexandra's sketches of my beautiful Furry Boy...she's managed to capture him to a "T"...the likeness is uncanny and I can't stop looking at them...gorgeous...fabulous...too beautiful for words and they are sitting in the cubbyhole where I can just stare at them in wonderment until I decide on a permanent home. It's been a sad time in the cubbyhole this week but Alexandra's kindness has lifted my spirits and the tears I'm shedding today are tears of joy. What can I say...thank you doesn't seem enough to describe how much this means to me...thank you so much lovely lady...I will treasure your beautiful sketches forever and love love love the tag.
Time to get organised and packed up for the
Christmas Altered Art Workshop at The Papeterie tonight...fun and Christmas frolics here I come.
See you all tomorrow
Hugs Kath xxx

ReplyDeleteGood morning Kath and Buddy, you are very welcome.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed drawing these pencil portraits, the good looks of your furry co-pilot inspired me.
I only got back to drawing during 6 weeks of time off work due to a horrendous chest infection around May/June this year, this was after an eight or 9 year gap from art, I even decided to try blogging at the end of this sick period, so I turned this time into something positive. My creativity during these years was re-directed to card making, stamping and altered art. Working full time eats into my creativity time but allows me to buy pretty crafty supplies. I love visiting your blog, it's so inspirational and I love your sense of humour.
Alexandra is really talented - these drawings are fantastic :)
ReplyDeleteOh my word, truly stunning drawings by Alexandra. Such a lovely and thoughtful gift

Hi Kath, I must tell you that when I saw the first one yesterday on Alexandra's blog I came out in goosebumps because I knew immediately it was the lovely Buddy! That's how good the drawing is. I never fail to be impressed by Alexandra's work, yet she is so modest and so very generous with her kind comments on mine and other blogs. She is a proper little heroine! The tag is absolutely gorgeous and I can see your inspiration in it too Kath. Have a wonderful day.......A x

Morning me dearest Kath, what a wonderful personal keepsake of your gorgeous Buddy. Alexandra is one very talented lady. I had only scrolled down my screen enough to see Alexandra's first sketch and was amazed at the likeness to Buddy boy, but when I saw how perfectly she'd captured the photograph I was truly astounded. Isn't it lovely when something arrives in our life from a kind heart to brighten up a sad time.
