For this project, I'm working on a Tim Holtz Alcohol Ink 5" x 7" Hard Core Art Panel which is the perfect substrate for mixed media techniques using Alcohol Inks, Pearls, Mixatives and Blending Solution. Hard Core Art Panels are double sided vinyl with an engineered wood rigid core MDF board offering an ideal surface that remains rigid and flat. The vinyl is mounted with a PH non yellowing permanent adhesive which creates a ready to use bright white, lightly textured surface. I began by adding drops of Tranquil and Mineral Alcohol Pearl Inks on to an Alcohol Ink Blending Tool, pounced the inks on to the surface, sprinkled on droplets of blending solution and dried with a heat tool to stop the blending solution reacting further with the inks.
I applied Mineral Alcohol Pearl ink to the same pad, applied through Stencil #45 Digital Bubbles and heat set.
I inked the image from Flower Kido with Black Soot Distress Archival and stamped on the panel.
I stamped the flowers, bee and sentiment on to Distress Plain Collage Paper so that I could use some of the flowers individually, traced around the images with water using a clean brush, teased the excess away and fixed to the panel with Distress Collage Medium Matte.
I covered the image and sentiment with scrap paper and added splatters of White Gouache
and highlights to the images using a Sakura White Gelly Roll Pen.
I finished off by adding Tim Holtz Idea-ology Small Talk Snarky Stickers which summed up exactly how I was feeling that day.
