Thankful For Your Friendship

Hello my friends, I'm back to share another card using the A2 acetate cards, Prima In Full Bloom patterned paper, Chunky Thankful Greetings stamp set and co-ordinating dies from Simon Says Chunky Thankful Greetings September Card Kit. The kit is still available to purchase or if you wish, you can also purchase individual items from the kit HERE.

I trimmed Distress Watercolor card to 4" x 5.1/4" and fixed to the back of the acetate card as a place to write a message. I trimmed one of the Prima In Full Bloom patterned papers to the same size and fixed inside the card.
I stamped the large Thankful image from Chunky Thankful Greetings on to Distress Watercolor card, inked with Dusty Concord Distress Oxide ink and die-cut using the co-ordinating die. I pulled the ink out from the edges of the image using a Distress Detailer Brush and added splatters of Dusty Concord Distress Oxide ink.
I stamped the flowers and leaf stems from Chunky Thankful Greetings on to Distress Watercolor card, inked with Milled Lavender and Dusty Concord Distress Oxide inks and die-cut using the co-ordinating dies.
I fixed Thankful, flowers and leaf stems to the front of the acetate card with foam squares to add dimension and decorated with Simon Says Northern Lights Embellishment Mix.
To finish, I stamped the small sentiment from the stamp set on to a strip of Distress Watercolor card, inked with Simon Says Intense Black ink and fixed in place with foam strips.

Have a great weekend and Happy Crafting.

Butterfly Burst Blackout

Hello my friends, I'm back to share another card using products from Simon Says Chunky Thankful Greetings September Card Kit. The kit is still available to purchase or if you wish, you can buy individual items from the kit HERE.

The minute I saw the beautiful Butterfly Burst Embossing Folder included in the kit, I knew it would be perfect to use with the blackout technique.#
I trimmed the Simon Says Cotton Candy cardstock included in the kit in half and scored and folded to make a side folding A2 card. I trimmed the other half to 4" x 5.1/4", embossed with the Butterfly Burst embossing folder and dragged Simon Says Intense Black ink over the debossed side of the panel.
I stamped the small sentiments from the Chunky Thankful Greetings stamp set, inked with Intense Black ink, on the bottom right of the card blank by masking off the words on the top sentiment stamp, only stamping Thank You above the second sentiment.
I stamped the flowers from Chunky Thankful Greetings on to scraps of Distress Watercolor card, inked with Spun Sugar Distress Oxide ink, added shading with Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide ink using Simon Says Round Detail Blending Brushes. I stamped the stems and foliage, inked with Intense Black ink and die-cut using the co-ordinating dies which are not included in the kit but are available to purchase separately.
I tore the embossed panel at an angle, fixed to the card blank and added splatters of Worn Lipstick Distress Spritz. I fixed the flowers and leaves in place, popped up on foam squares to add dimension, added a black and white twine double bow and decorated with Trinity Stamps Sweet Strawberry Heart Sprinkles.

Have fun with whatever you're making.

Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous - Halloween Whatnots

Hello my friends, I'm back to share the third project I made for the YouTube Live launch of Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Halloween release. If you missed the Live, you can always catch up with the new stamps and stencils and all the amazing inspiration from the Makers over on Tim's YouTube Channel and Blog.

I made 3 acetate cards using Halloween Whatnots to create tone on tone backgrounds and embossed sentiments.

I began by trimming Distress Black Heavystock and White cardstock to A2 and fixed the black panel on the inside of pre-made A2 acetate cards from Simon Says stamp and the white panels on the back of the cards. I trimmed Distress Watercolor card to create 3 - 4" x 5.1/4" panels and coloured with Crackling Campfire/Spiced \Marmalade, Wilted Violet/Villainous Potion and Twisted Citron/ Peeled Paint Distress Oxide inks. I inked the Halloween Whatnots with Crackling Campfire, Villainous Potion Distress Oxide inks, stamped repeatedly over the backgrounds, sprinkled with Ranger Clear Embossing Powder and heat set. I repeated the process on the green background, inked with Black Soot Distress Oxide ink. I stamped the Something Wicked sentiment and the cobweb from Boo Crazy with Black Soot Distress Oxide on the orange background and heat set with Ranger Clear Embossing Powder.
I fixed the panels on the inside of the cards. I stamped the cobweb and Whatnots sentiments on the front of the acetate cards, inked with Versamark ink, sprinkled with Ranger White Detail embossing powder and heat set.
I fixed strong double sided adhesive to both sides of Distress Black HeavyStock, peeled back the carrier sheet and sprinkled with Distress Glitter Nightfall. If you don't have this glitter, you can make your own using Distress Rock Candy Glitter and Pitch Black Alcohol Ink. I placed the card in to folded copy paper and ran through my die cutting machine to make sure the glitter was fixed firmly in place. I then die-cut using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Wicked and Gothic Portraits Thinlits and fixed to the front of the cards.
To finish I punched two holes on the edges of the cards, threaded through black ribbon and tied in a knot to secure.

I'll be back soon to share more makes using the fabulous stamps and stencils from the Halloween release and I'm sure you'll have fun too when yours arrive.

Simon Says - Tag It

Hi Everyone...welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog. Thank you for joining us for last week's challenge and we hope you can join us this week too because

and the theme for this week is...
TAG IT
I created a fun spooky Halloween tag shaped card using Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Moon Layering Masks, Distress Oxide inks and the sentiment from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Halloween Whatnots. I used Simon Says Windswept Leaves, Fruitful Berries and Stack O' Pumpkins dies, Tim Holtz/Sizzix Vault Wicked Thinlits and Idea-ology Mummy Cloth to decorate the tag.
I coloured a #8 Tag using Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Moon Layering Masks, Wild Honey, Crackling Campfire and Black Soot Distress Oxide inks to create a moody Halloween background.
I spritzed the tag with Spiced Marmalade Distress Spritz.
I stamped the saying from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Halloween Whatnots inked with Simon Says Intense Black ink, sprinkled with Ranger Super Fine Black Embossing Powder and heat set.
I die-cut Simon Says Windswept Leaves from Green Leaf cardstock and shaded with Black Soot Distress Oxide ink using Simon Says Round Detail Blending Brush.
I fixed the die-cuts in place with Distress Collage Medium and added splatters of Mulled Cider Distress Mica Stain from the nozzle of the bottle.
I die-cut Simon Says Fruitful Berries from Green Leaf and Burnt Orange cardstock, shaded with Pearfection Pawsitively Saturated ink and Crackling Campfire Distress Oxide ink.
I added the die-cuts to the tag and fixed a piece of Tim Holtz Idea-ology Mummy Cloth on top held in place with dots of Distress Collage Medium.
I die-cut Simon Says Stack O' Pumpkins from Burnt Orange, Green Leaf and Distress Black HeavyStock. I fixed double sided tape behind the pumpkin, fixed the eyes, noses and mouths into the negative spaces and added the green stems.
I fixed the pumpkins in place over the Mummy Cloth popped up on foam squares and added white highlights to the eyes with a Sakura White Gelly Roll Pen. I die-cut the stars and bats from Distress Black HeavyStock which I had coated previously with Distress Nightfall Glitter, using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Vault Wicked Thinlits and fixed in place with Distress Collage Medium. I fixed the tag to Distress Black HeavyStock and trimmed to leave a border. I added a Mummy Cloth bow and Ranger Glossy Accents to the berries.
To finish I added the tag to a white card blank, trimmed to a tag shape to leave a 1/8" border all round.

Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous - Boo Crazy

Hello my friends, I'm back to share the trio of cards I made for the Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous YouTube Live launch of the Halloween release using the super cute ghosts and sentiments from Boo Crazy on Alcohol Ink backgrounds. The Boo Crazy Family all dressed up and ready to party, apart from Dad who does look a tad grumpy.

I began by trimming Tim Holtz/Ranger Ink White Yupo to create 3 - 4.5" x 6.5" panels. I added Blending Solution on to the first panel, drops of Gravel, Smudge, Chronicle and Flannel Alcohol Inks from the new release, moved them around with the Distress Blower, added more ink and blending solution and played around until I was happy with the background.
I inked the cobweb image from Boo Crazy and the sentiments from Halloween What Nots with Alcohol Lift Ink, stamped on to the panel and patted the images repeatedly with kitchen towel until the images appeared as if by magic.
I inked the ghost images from Boo Crazy with Versafine Clair Nocturne ink, stamped on to scraps of Tim Holtz Alcohol Ink Dura-Lar which is a clear transparent heat tolerant surface, sprinkled with Ranger Black Fine Detail Embossing Powder and heat set. I coloured the back of the Dura-Lar with Gravel, Smudge and Snowcap Mixative using a blending tool with felt pad.
I fussy cut the images leaving a small border around the edge, smeared the back with Ranger Glossy Accents using my finger, fixed to scraps of Distress Watercolor card and fussy cut again.
I repeated the process with the sentiments from Boo Crazy, fixed to Distress Black HeavyStock and trimmed to leave a small border.
I used Cosmopolitan, Juniper and Chronicle Alcohol Inks on the second panel

and Yonder, Flannel and Chronicle Alcohol Inks on the third panel.
I applied Distress Black Texture Paste through the Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Bats Layering Stencil on all 3 panels and stitched around the edges with black thread to attach to 5" x 7" panels of Distress Black HeavyStock.
I fixed the ghosts and sentiments to the panels popped up on 3d foam pads to create dimension and added hats and ties die-cut from scraps of Distress Black HeavyStock and coloured Dura-Lar using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Tailored Thinlits. I spritzed Tim Holtz Idea-ology Bouquet Findings with water and dipped into drops of Cosmopolitan, Juniper and Chronicle Alcohol Inks, dried and fixed to the panel with a hot glue gun.
To finish I matted the panels on to 5" x 7" white card blanks.

I'll be back soon to share the 3rd project I made for the Live, in the meantime, Happy Stampers Anonymous Shopping and have fun when your stamps and stencils arrive.
