Wild Rose Layered Stamping

Hello my friends, I created a simple layered stamping card using the gorgeous Wild Rose 6" x 8" stamp set from Simon Says Stamp recent In My Heart release, a Custom Blend Ink Pad, Distress Watercolor Pencils and Nested Stitched Rectangle dies.

I began by die-cutting 4 rectangle panels from Distress Watercolor card using Simon Says Stamp Nested Stitched Rectangles wafer dies. I smooshed a Distress Oxide Custom Blend Ink pad created with Distress Ink and Distress Oxide Re-inkers (colours linked below) on to my craft media mat, spritzed with water and used to colour the 3 smaller rectangle panels.
I placed the largest rectangle panel in my stamping platform and stamped the floral image from Simon Says Stamp Wild Rose stamp set, inked with Ground Espresso Distress Archival ink.
I placed the largest of the coloured rectangle panels in the centre of the first panel and re-stamped the floral image.
I repeated the process with the second coloured panel. I inked the edges of the 3 coloured panels with Frayed Burlap Distress Oxide ink using a mini round blending tool and fixed to the background panel with Distress Collage Medium, making sure to line up the stamping. I fixed the smallest panel in place horizontally using Simon Says Stamp 3D Thin Foam Squares.
I stamped the floral image and sentiment on to a scrap of Distress Watercolor card, inked with Ground Espresso Distress Archival Ink, sprinkled with Simon Says Stamp Clear Embossing Powder and heat set.
I coloured the flower using Salvaged Patina, Pine Needles and Wild Honey Distress Watercolor Pencils with a Distress Detailer Waterbrush and added splatters of Pine Needles.
I masked off the white background edges, added splatters from the Pine Needles Watercolor Pencil and fixed to a top-folding A2 white card blank. I fussy cut the flower and sentiment (there are dies available which are linked below) and fixed in place with Simon Says Stamp 3D Thin Foam Squares.
To finish I added Trinity Stamps Creamy Vanilla Heart Sprinkles.

I'm super excited that the fabulous Simon Says Stamp Long Stem Florals May Card Kit has arrived in the cubbyhole and I'll be back soon to share some projects.
Have fun with whatever you're making.
Hugs Kath xxx
