The challenge this week at Daring Cardmakers from Vanessa is......
AUTUMN PURPLE
and at Allsorts from Gro is......
HALLOWEEN
I don't think I have ever used purple on a card and my first thought was "do I have any purple paper"...after an age searching boxes and boxes of paper with no luck....I remembered the pads of Coredinations Black Magic.....and this just happened to be one of the colours on the reverse.....perfecto... and do you know what... I rather like the colour combination of purple and orange together.
Papers: Coredinations Black Magic
MME...Bloom & Grow Collection
Ghosts: Quickutz Die
Sentiment: Cricut George & Basic Shapes
all finished off with a little bit of doodling and highlighting with
Ranger Inkssentials White Opaque Pen
I had a lovely morning yesterday visiting the cutest little boy...yes my Great Nephew Ross who is now 3 days old and such a poppet.....and can't believe I left my camera at home......and then left to come home at lunchtime leaving my scarf on their sofa.....oh dear me thinks perhaps I need a Memory Transplant.
Not really my fault.....it's all to do with my new bed accessory.....you know me I am a real up early in the morning gal....but since I bought myself a feather bed a few weeks ago.....I wake up at the usual time but can't bring myself to get out of bed.....so yesterday morning I turned over and drifted off again until 8.00am.....shock horror.....mad dash to shower.....throw some breakfast down my throat.....walk "The Budster" and then take off for my date with the new babe and to cap it all....was held up on the road by a farmer moving his cows from one field to another and not very successfully....they were running amok all over the road and by the time I got there was I frazzled. I hate rushing in the morning....like to take my time...sink several coffees before I can face the day and it's going to get worse.....dark dismal cold days when it hardly gets light all day......how on earth am I going to motivate myself to crawl out of this feathery heaven and "His Nibs" seems to have fallen in love with it too. Catch up with you all tomorrow with goodness knows what.....all depends what time we manage to surface in the morning.
Hugs Kath xxxxxxx
Morning Kath
ReplyDeleteThis colour combo works really well, but know what you mean about purple, never seems to be much crafty stuff about in that colourway. Love those little ghosts.
Thanks for joining us at Allsorts this week.

Kath, your card is beautiful. Love the little ghost!
ReplyDeleteCome to Florida.. no feather bed in the guest room, I'm afraid, but no cold dark mornings either. I'll even let you rummage in my cubby hole!
ReplyDeletePurple is beginning to grow on me too and love it with orange. Know what you mean about the feather bed! :) xxxx
ReplyDeleteWouldn't be without my feather bed either - so snuggly. A fabulously purple autumny card Kath and I think we all felt exactly the same with the colour at first but ended up loving the finished article. Thanks for joining in with DCM again this week.

ReplyDeleteLove your card hun, those little ghosts are well cute, hee hee! Glad that you had a good time with little Ross, I think you left your scarf there on purpose, so that you have an excuse to go back so soon for more cuddles LOL.

Gorgeous card Kath :) I love purple - I'd use it on every card if I could! Thos little ghosts are so cute :)
ReplyDeleteYour bed sounds fab! I didn't realise you could still get feather beds - I remember sleeping in my Grans when I was little - cos it was pretty old you'd get up in the morning and the feathers would have escaped, you'd be picking them out of your hair for the rest of the day!

Wow this is fab Kath! I love the little ghosties and the colours are great too!

Wow Kathc, 18 posts since my last visit ... you are definitely busiest golden deliciousness Mom out there. It seems like the weather is truly changing on your side. Perhaps having two less hours in the day to work, is good for the body to unwind a bit. Love this spooky creation. Great design.

I love your card, i think purple goes really well for Halloween. Great card Sal xx
ReplyDeleteFantastic card, the purple and black work brilliantly with the orange. :)
ReplyDeleteVanessa.
You make me howl with laughter with all your antics but this feather bed issue is serious. I didn't dare use my feather bed last winter as I simply couldn't get up for work!! I think I'll give it a try again soon though - I'm due in hospital for an op and will be off work for 6 months so roll on those lie-ins!!!
