What's on My Workdesk Wednesday

Morning folks....middle of the week and time to join in the fun once again at WOYWW.....remember my book that I was going to be altering last week....yes this one......

let me tell you that the project has moved on in leaps and bounds....NOT.....

I am still thinking about it and have only got as far as looking out some papers and stamps....
I've got that affliction that all crafters dread..."Thinking About and Analysing Everything Syndrome".    I definitely work better under pressure so if this little project had a deadline to meet...I would be whizzing through it no probs.  When folks ask me where I get my inspiration I tell them to just get stuck in and have a play....what's the worst that can happen....a bit of paper ends up in the bin.....perhaps I should listen to my own advice and get a-ripping and a-tearing this delicious pad of gorgeous Tim Holtziness but I have a funny feeling that Mr Mojo only popped in to drop off his dirty washing...pick up some clean clothes and he's off again....so this could end up being the longest running saga in crafting history.
Catch with you all tomorrow for hopefully a sneaky peek and an introduction to my new friend
Hugs Kath xxx
Edited to add:   just when I thought Mr Blogger had sorted out yesterday's comments problem....it appears not.. either that or he can't count

  7. Well the stash on your desk looks very promiseing. I know what you mean I spend ages trying to decide what to do then end up with nothing, I have projects like that, they just stay in the packet.
Hope your mojo comes back soon, have a good day.

  10. Sometimes I do the same thing, but it's because I'm procrastinating for fear of making a mistake. Other times I jump right in and often regret not doing any pre-planning. I think it depends on the cost of the project and the results I hope to gain from it. Happy WOYWW this week. I bet next week, we'll see something really spectacular.

  11. Morning Kath, looks like you've got some gorgeousness sitting there, I'm having trouble thinking 'how are you keeping your hands off it?'
Perhaps if you start with a small project it will very quickly build into a theme for your book. Just think of the fun you're going to have using all the stuff, have to admit to a small degree of greenness over here:)
Of course you could also go down the route of trying to ignore it completely and get on with what you must do first, y'know like the housework arrgh!, xx

  19. oh dear.... over analysis syndrome - cure = decide what you don't want - see what's left? - nooo, that won't work either - let's face it this could be a ten year project?

  22. I know exactly what you mean as I always think about things too much rather than getting stuck in. Saw this quote recently and have now taken it for my excuse when needed, 'Indecision is the key to flexability'.

  23. Lovely muted papers you have chosen there. Can't wait to see the finished article. Would you like me to set a time limit for you??????

  24. I had probs with comments yesterday too, it said 8 all day when there were really 10, but now seems sorted.

i think you should break the project down into stages, post each stage each week, so we can keep check on you lol

stage 1 being the thinking about it...not allowed to use that stage again next week.

  25. Ah well, obviously the trick is to set yourself a deadline, especially one that's imminent.... will Sunday work for you!! I'll pop back and see if you've posted it and risen to the challenge!!

Hugs to you and Buddy (of course)

  33. I know what you mean about over-analysing Kath. I can take ages trying to decide what DP to use etc. My friend and I spent some time this afternoon making some red and white cards for Jacqui. It was good to craft together.

  37. hi, Kath! i've been wanting to do an altered book for some time now so i will check to see how yours is going and maybe finally start on mine.

    ReplyDelete
  38. I think you may have put your finger on the problem a lot of us are having ...we are thinking too much. As it is such a beautiful base to create on, you want to get it right ...if it were a tag ...well there is always another one if something doesn't work ...so you tend not to over plan. I cant wait to see your finished project ... but in your own time .xx

  39. when you start this project...it will be perfect! my blogger comment list is changing all day long too!

  40. it will be wonderful no matter how long you take to complete it :)

  41. Dont worry about not doing the box yet - I have that same box and mine hasnt been done and I have had it for about 2 years now! did use the little one as a travel journal box when I went to the States three years ago but the big one is still sitting there waiting... I am sure we will both get around to them one day!

    ReplyDelete
  42. All i can really say to you to make you feel any better is ITS THE THOUGHT THAT COUNTS lol.. well isn't that what they say.. and your just taking your time thinking about it.. i'm sure the mojo will appear when you least expect it and you'll create something wonderful..

    ReplyDelete
  43. Ah yes, the thinking and walking around it phase. I do this a lot with Th type stuff becasue I'm scared to death of the expectation!! Ultiamtely though, it'llbe fine, because no-one - not even you at this stage - knows where you're going with it! Good luck - it's not mojo, it's just paper and ink!!

  44. It all looks very neat and tidy, maybe you'll think of something to make it messy really soon!
