What's on my Workdesk Wednesday

Morning folks...it's the middle of the week once again....the magical day Wednesday when all us nosey parkers join together to have fun over at Julia's place....aka WOYWW and surprise surprise no cardmaking stuff on my desk today.    That doesn't mean that the demo stuff is finished....I just felt in need of a little break from inking stamping and sticking....so this is what I am playing with today.....
My lovely buddy Anne....Simply Create's very own queen of all things fabricy and sewing gave me one of her Shaggy Raggy Patchwork Cushion Kits for Christmas.....I only got it last week as we were unable to meet up before Christmas due to the mountain of snow that landed in our neck of the woods and it seems that I have been specially selected to road test the kit before it goes on sale to the crafty public....I know what Anne's thinking...she knows me too well.....if I can make this cushion
ANYONE CAN!!!  
So I sat down last night with a cuppa and the instructions...oh dear you all know by now that I am not noted for following instructions so specs cleaned and in place...brain switched on and here we go.....
all the fabric squares and wadding required are pre-cut...how cool is that....so following the instructions to the letter I matched them all up....so far so good....well how difficult can it be and this may be a statement that I live to regret....onto the next step....sew each square diagonally....one down....just 17 to go and then a case of stitching them altogether....will it look anything like a cushion when I am all done...watch this space.
and seeing as the sewing machine is smoking today.....time to have a play with some fabric and a fabilicious Hero Arts for a workshop coming to Simply Create soon

Happy crafting whatever you are playing with today and I do believe The Furry One will be in charge tomorrow.....announcing the winner of his give-away and permission has been granted for another little clear out.

Edited to add: I've had quite a few e-mails asking which ink pad I used to stamp on the fabric....I use Versafine Onyx Black and leave it a few moments to dry before I handle it...this is fine for fabric projects that are not going to be washed...I would assume that Momento or  Ranger Archival would be OK too.

    the fabric is gorgeous, would love to see the finished result of your cushion, i think it is fab. when you showed the sneak previews the other day it did look like you did it on fabric! wow! what ink pad did you use to stamp on fabric?

    Love your fabric flowers, thats my next project to try as I want to make a brooch for my friend. I hadn't thought about stamping on it too though, what a clever idea! Tracey x

    Your cushion will look lovely when it's finished. Great idea getting it all cut out and with the wadding to. Love your stamping onto fabric. I think I'll try that I work with fabrics. I want to get some into my cards. Hugs x ChrisB

    Hi Kath and gorgeeelious Buddy. The cushion fabric is lovely. I especially like the chintz design. I'm not one for these modern fabrics...give me cottage chintz, or ditsy florals any time x

    Correction, Kath. After another look, I would say that the floral fabric looks more like folk art painting, and not chintz...sorry!

    Wow Kath, those colors are just gorgeous! I can't wait to see it when it's done! I don't like to sew, though I have had some quilt ideas in my head for each of my boys for awhile. But we'll see. Let us know how easy it was so I'll be prompted to get on with it!
