Tim Holtz/Sizzix Chapter 1 - Theodore...

Hi folks, today I'm sharing the Etcetera Tag I made for Creativation 2020 and the Facebook Live launch of the Tim Holtz/Sizzix Chapter 1 dies starring the latest addition to the Colorize family, the adorable Theodore. Just look at that face and that very cute butt, who wouldn't fall in love with this guy. If you missed the Facebook Live launch, you can check out all the new products from Sizzix over on Tim's blog HERE.

I began by covering a Medium Etcetera Tag with paper from Tim Holtz Idea-ology Wallflower Paper Stash, fixed in place with Distress Collage Medium Matte.
I die-cut the Tim Holtz/Sizzix Stacked Tile Hexagons from Classic Kraft Stock and because there are 5 dies for each size, it takes no time at all to die-cut multiples.
For the larger hexagons, I created frames using the largest and next size down dies, repeated for the smaller hexagons but popped the negatives back in, inked the edges with Ground Espresso Distress ink and fixed in place with Distress Collage Medium Matte.
I fixed 3 layers of Scallop Etcetera Trims together with Distress Collage Medium and painted with a light coat of Antique Linen Distress Paint. I die-cut Alphanumeric Classic Upper Thinlits from Distress Watercolor card 3 times to create the title and layered to create dimension. I inked Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Lumberjack background stamp with Peeled Paint Distress Oxide ink, stamped on to the letters and Etcetera Trim and inked the edges with Ground Espresso Distress Ink.
I fixed Tim Holtz/Sizzix Adhesive Sheets to the back of different colours of brown Classic Kraft Stock, sanded back to reveal a little of the kraft core and die-cut using the Theodore Colorize Thinlits. If you are not familiar with the Colorize concept, the dies have a number etched on the back, e.g. Brown 1, Brown 2, Grey, Black, White etc, basically a guide for which die to use with the different colours of card and each die leaves a imprint on the die-cut so that you know exactly where to fix the next layer. Once I had Theodore assembled I fixed the Etcetera Trim in place, added splatters of white gouache on the background and fixed Theodore in place with Mini Foam Adhesive.

I added the letters to create the title and Tim Holtz/Sizzix Large Funky Floral Thinlits die-cut from plain Distress Watercolor card and card coloured with Fossilized Amber Distress Oxide ink, stamped with the plaid background and inked around the edges with Ground Espresso Distress Ink. I stamped the bees from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Entomology on to Distress Watercolor card, coloured with Distress Markers and die-cut using the matching Sizzix dies.

I die-cut Tim Holtz/Sizzix Flower Jar Thinlits from Distress Watercolor card, coloured with Fossilized Amber Distress Oxide ink and added a thick layer of Glossy Accents. Once it was dry, I added twine around the neck of the jar and tied in a bow. I die-cut Tim Holtz/Sizzix Alphanumeric Tiny Text Lower Thinlits from Classic Kraft Stock, fixed to a scrap of Distress Watercolor card to create a label.
I know in the wild, a bear would be scooping the delicious honey from the jar with his paw but our Theodore is a well-mannered bear from a good family so I provided an Idea-ology Silverware Spoon.

I'll be back soon to share more Creativation Sizzix Projects, in the meantime, here is the Facebook Live schedule for the launch of all the new products
Time to mark your calendars folks, so you don't miss a thing, 5.00pm if you're in the UK and 6.00pm in Europe.
Toodle-oo for now
Hugs Kath xxx
