Simon Says - Add Some Texture

Hi Everyone...welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog. Thank you for joining us for last week's challenge and we hope you can join us this week too because

and the theme for this week is...
ADD SOME TEXTURE
I'm so happy to see the daffodils and crocuses poking their heads through the snow, a sure sign that Spring isn't far away. With that in mind, I created an Art Journal page dedicated to my garden and used Tim Holtz/Sizzix Typewriter 3d Texture Fade and Distress Grit Paste applied through the Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Bubble Mini Layering Stencil from Set 5 to add texture and decorated with an Idea-ology Lace Baseboard Frame and Tim Holtz/Sizzix Funky Nature, Small Tattered Florals, Alphanumeric Stretch Lower and Numbers and Alphanumeric Bold Thinlits.

I trimmed Distress Watercolor card to create a panel the same size as the Tim Holtz/Sizzix Typewriter 3D Texture Fade and coloured by smooshing Speckled Egg and Shabby Shutters Distress Oxide inks and Frayed Burlap Distress Ink on to the craft mat on my Glass Media Mat, spritzed with water, laid the panel into the inks, dried and tapped back in to pick up the remaining droplets, always drying between layers. I spritzed the panel lightly with water, placed in the 3D Texture Fade and ran through my Big Shot 3 times. I lightly dragged the Frayed Burlap Distress Ink pad over the raised areas of the letters. I trimmed Distress Watercolor card to 6" x 8" and coloured with Antique Linen and Frayed Burlap Distress Oxide inks using the same method as before. I tore the Typewriter panel, inked the edges with Frayed Burlap Distress Oxide ink and fixed to the larger panel using Distress Collage Medium.
I couldn't resist adding a little hint of Kitsch Flamingo using the Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Tiles and Frayed Burlap with Schoolhouse Mini Layering Stencils from Sets 8 and 9.
To add more texture, I applied Distress Grit Paste through the Bubble Mini Layering Stencil from Set 5 sprinkled lightly with Walnut Stain Distress Embossing Glaze and heat set once the paste had dried.
I coloured the Idea-ology Baseboard Frame with Speckled Egg and Walnut Stain Distress Crayon, rubbing the crayon into the detail, wiped the excess off with a soft cloth and sanded the edges.
I fixed Ideaology Wallflower Paper behind the frame.
I fixed Sizzix Adhesive Sheet to panels of Distress Watercolor card and die-cut the flowers and foliage using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Funky Nature Thinlits and with the die-cuts held safely in place, I coloured using a mix of Distress Inks and Distress Oxide inks and a Distress Detailer Brush. I arranged the die-cuts and fixed in place using Sizzix Foam Adhesive and Distress Collage Medium Matte.
I added strips of Idea-ology Design Tape.
I added more flowers and leaves die-cut using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Small Tattered Florals and heat embossed the centres with Stampendous Aged Black Embossing Enamel.
I die-cut the word Spring 4 times from the left over adhesive backed Distress Watercolor card using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Alphanumeric Stretch Lower and Numbers and Alphanumeric Bold Thinlits, making it easy to layer the letters to create dimension and also to fix in place.
I added Idea-ology Small Talk Stickers popped up on Sizzix Foam Adhesive.

To finish I fixed the panel to one of the burlap pages in my Dina Wakley Media Journal.
