Tim Holtz/Sizzix Foliage 3D Texture Fade

Hi my friends, I'm sharing a trio of cards I made for the YouTube Live Tim Holtz/Sizzix Seasonal release using the beautiful Foliage 3D Texture Fade in 3 different ways on different surfaces and the Oak Leaf Impresslits along with the exciting new Distress Mica Stain Halloween Collection from Tim Holtz and Ranger. Woohoo, Distress Mica Stains are the thing if you want to add some gorgeous shimmer to your projects. Sadly the camera doesn't always pick up the shimmer. If you missed the Sizzix or Ranger Lives, you can catch up with the products and all the amazing inspirational makes over on Tim's Blog HERE and HERE.

The surfaces I used from L to R - Distress Watercolor card, Distress White HeavyStock and Idea-ology BlackOut KraftStock, trimmed to 3.3/4"  5.3/4".

I began by spritzing the textured background with Jack O Lantern Distress Mica Stain, added a spritz of water, let the stain do it's own thing and dried. I added light spritz of Bubbling Cauldron Distress Mica Stain and dried. I fixed the panel to Idea-ology Gold Metallic KraftStock trimmed to 4" x 6" and added a strip of scrap card left over from one of the other cards, matted on to Gold Metallic KraftStock.
I die-cut Tim Holtz/Sizzix Skeleton Leaves from Distress Watercolor and Idea-ology Gold Metallic Kraftstock. I tapped the Distress Watercolor leaf into a puddle of Old Paper and Walnut Stain Distress Oxide inks, dried and spritzed with Jack O Lantern Distress Mica Stain.
I inked the sentiment from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Tiny Text Christmas with Ground Espresso Distress Archival ink and stamped on to the strip of card.
I fixed the leaves in place slightly offset, partially covering the sentiment and added "FALL" die-cut from Idea-ology Gold Metallic KraftStock using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Alphanumeric Varsity Thinlits.

I sprayed Shabby Shutters and Bundled Sage, Jack O Lantern and Bubbling Cauldron Distress Mica Stains on to the craft mat on my Glass Media Mat and spritzed with water. I laid the panel into the inks, dried and tapped back on to the mat to pick up the remaining droplets.
I ran the Distress White HeavyStock panel and an A2 sheet of Vellum through my die-cutting using the Foliage 3D Texture Fade. I trimmed the Vellum to create a strip along the bottom edge and die-cut using the Alphanumeric Varsity Thinlits. I die-cut the letters again from Idea-ology Gold Metallic KraftStock and used the outlines of the letters to add definition. I trimmed 2 thin strips from the Gold Metallic KraftStock and used to edge the vellum strip.
I die-cut and embossed Distress White HeavyStock using the Oak Leaf Impresslit. I sprayed Jack O Lantern and Bubbling Cauldron Distress Mica Stains on to the craft mat on my Glass Media Mat, spritzed with water, tapped the leaves into the inks, dried and tapped back in again to pick up the remaining droplets. Once dry, I darkened the detail by rubbing a Ground Espresso Distress Mini Ink pad lightly over the textured surface.
I fixed the leaves in place on foam adhesive and added an Idea-ology Chit Chat Sticker.

On the third card, I create the background in the same way as the previous card and using the same colours but using the other side of the Texture Fade and using more water to lighten the colours. As I did with the leaves on the previous card, I darkened the raised areas in the same way.
I die-cut the house and clouds from Distress White HeavyStock using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Ghost Town, the banner using Decorative Trims Thinlits and the sentiment using Alphanumeric Varsity and Tiny Type Thinlits.

Have fun with whatever you are making
Hugs Kath xxx
