Tim Holtz Distress Foundry Wax

Hi my friends, if you've just come from the Saturday night party over at Tim and Mario's place, you'll know that a brand new innovative and unique product - Distress Foundry Wax has joined the Tim Holtz/Ranger Distress family. If you missed the Live, you can catch up on Tim's YouTube Channel HERE where our Professor explained the unique properties of this product and treated us to amazing demos too and you can check out the after party projects from the Makers on their Instagram feeds or on Tim's Blog HERE

I created a mini slimline card inspired by the swatch panel I made using all four colours on Idea-ology Black KraftStock embossed with the Tim Holtz/Sizzix Damask 3D Texture Fade.

I began by embossing a panel of Idea-ology Black KraftStock with Tim Holtz/Sizzix Damask 3D Texture Fade, added a few drops of the Gilded Foundry Wax on to the craft mat on my Glass Media Mat, swirled it around with my finger until it turned creamy and then lightly rubbed over the textured detail. Foundry Wax has a limited open time so on this project, it was best to work with one colour at a time and in smaller sections and then repeat the process with the other three colours.
The magic property of this product is that when you heat set it, the dull finish of the wax transforms as if by magic into molten shiny gorgeous goodness which is not easy to pick up with a camera.
I tore across the bottom of the panel at an angle and fixed to the card blank using Distress Collage Medium.
I die-cut HELLO four times from Idea-ology Black KraftStock using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Alphanumeric Stretch Lower Thinlits and stacked to create dimension.
This time I picked up the Gilded Foundry Wax on a small brush, tapped on to the die-cut letters and heat set.
I repeated the process with Sterling Foundry Wax and fixed to the bottom of the card using Distress Collage Medium. I tapped Gilded, Mined and Sterling Foundry Waxes on to an Idea-ology Adornment Butterfly using the small brush, picked up the butterfly with my squeezers (tweezers) from the Tim Holtz/Sizzix Shaping Kit because the metal will get very hot, heat set and fixed in place with foam adhesive.

Inspired as always by Tim's demos, I can't wait to use this amazing new product on other projects. Have fun with whatever you are making.
Hugs Kath xxx
