Simon Says - Things With Wheels

Hi Everyone...welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog. Thank you for joining us for last week's challenge and we hope you can join us this week too because

and the theme for this week is...

THINGS WITH WHEELS

I created a trio of cards using Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Brushstrokes and The Obscure with Distress Oxide inks to make colour wheel backgrounds, decorated with Wildflowers, Lovebirds and Rosettes Thinlits from the new Tim Holtz/Sizzix 2024 Vault Collection and Stampers Anonymous Note Quotes for the sentiments.

I inked the large circle image from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Brushstrokes with two colours of Distress Oxide inks L to R Peeled Paint/Dusty Concord, Abandoned Coral/Dusty Concord and Carved Pumpkin/Peeled Paint, spritzed the stamp with water and stamped on to 4" x 5.1/4" panels of Distress Watercolor card. I stamped the wheel/compass stamp from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous The Obscure on the panels inked with Black Soot Distress Archival. I applied Distress Oxide ink in the corresponding colours around the stamped images using mini round blending tools, spritzed with water and dried.

I applied Distress Black Texture paste randomly over the backgrounds using Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Gradient Dot Mini Layering Stencil from Set 39.

I die-cut Tim Holtz/Sizzix Vault Wildflowers Thinlits from Distress Watercolor card, coloured only the centres of the flowers so that the die-cuts would stand out from the colourful backgrounds and fixed in place with Distress Collage Medium and foam squares.

I die-cut the birds from scraps of black 49andMarket paper left over from a previous project and Distress Watercolor card using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Vault Lovebirds Thinlits and layered to make them a little bit sturdier.

I die cut the Tim Holtz/Sizzix Rosettes Thinlits from the same paper and card and inked the edges of the inner circles with colours to match the panel backgrounds.

I inked the sentiments from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Note Quotes with Black Soot Distress Archival ink and stamped on the circles.

I fixed the birds and sentiment circles in place popped up on foam squares and added Tim Holtz/Idea-ology Remnant Rubs randomly on the backgrounds.

To finish I added splatters of Black Soot Distress Paint on the flower heads, matted the panels on to panels of Distress Black HeavyStock and fixed to A2 white card blanks.
