Happy Thanksgiving...

Hi folks, Happy Thanksgiving to all my crafting friends who are celebrating this special holiday, I hope you all have a wonderful fun day of celebration and feasting with family and friends. Of course, we don't celebrate Thanksgiving in the UK but I made a card to say how I thankful I am to be a part of the wonderful, world-wide crafting community and to say thank you, to all the wonderful crafty friends I have made along the way, for their friendship, inspiration, support and encouragement. Friendship is truly one of those special treasured gifts that money can't buy.
I was super excited when a Merry Christmas Happy Mail parcel arrived from Tim Mario and Paula, very special, kind and generous friends.
And I was literally, dancing around like crazy, whooping with delight when I found the fabulous new Metallic Kraftstock pads snuggled up inside, what an amazing surprise. There was lots of stroking and ooh-ing and aah-ing before I managed to bite the bullet and fire up my trusty Sizzix Sidekick to add some gorgeous shimmer to this card
I trimmed Distress Mixed Media Heavystock to be slightly smaller than an A2 card blank and coloured with Antique Linen/Old Paper Distress Oxides and Tea Dye Distress using the smooshing, drying spritzing and picking up the remaining ink droplets technique. I spritzed the card with water and embossed using the Sizzix Lumber 3D Texture Fade. I dried the card and dragged Ground Espresso Distress Ink lightly over the raised areas to darken them up.
I added Idea-ology Mummy Cloth to a panel of white card using Distress Collage Medium Matte and machine stitched on to the Lumber background.
I die-cut Tim Holtz/Sizzix Skeleton Leaves, one leaf from each of the Metallic Kraftstock pads, the pale green leaf from Confections, the coppery/gold leaf from Jewels and the copper leaf from Metallic 2. I sanded the leaves lightly to reveal the core beneath.
I added bits and pieces of  Idea-ology Thrift Ephemera and Snippets
wrapped Mummy Cloth around the panel and added a bow.
I die-cut the sentiment from white card and Metallic 2 Kraftstock Copper using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Script CutOut Script Thinlits, layered the letters slightly offset and fixed in place with Distress Collage Medium
The camera doesn't really do these absolutely gorgeous papers justice so I then embarked on a "turn the card this way and that" photography session to try and capture the magical shimmer and shine.

Have fun whatever you're doing today and I'll be back soon with more makes.
Hugs Kath xxx
