and the theme for this week is...
GIFT IT
GIFT IT
Christmas will soon be here and we thought it would be nice to dedicate a challenge to think about gifts. Handmade gifts are always well received, so maybe you would like to make someone something special, or you can make something to be used for the wrapping, tag, bag, box, paper etc.
I decorated a plain white gift bag with a festive snowflake theme and added a shaker frame on the front.
I decorated a plain white gift bag with a festive snowflake theme and added a shaker frame on the front.
I started off by trimming Distress Watercolor card to fit the front of the bag. I die-cut Tim Holtz/Sizzix Flurry 2 Thinlits from white card to use as a stencil.
I applied Hickory Smoke through my home-made stencil using a mini round blending tool
I stamped one of the snowflake images from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Mini Weathered Winter randomly over the panel but forgot to take a photo. I created a mask using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Stitched Rectangles Thinlits and stamped the Music background from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Music and Advert with Versafine Onyx Black.
I die-cut 6 Stitched Rectangles Thinlits frames from Simon Says Stamp #120 Ultra White card, layered to create the base of the shaker and fixed to the panel using Ranger Wonder Tape.
I coloured a scrap of card with Candied Apple Distress Paint and die-cut the stars and bow using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Swirling Stars and Festive Greens Thinlits. I fixed the stars in place with Ranger Multi Medium Matte and added snow and tiny white beads from my stash into the shaker frame.
I die-cut another Stitched Rectangle frame, trimmed a piece of heat resistant acetate to fit behind it, stamped the image from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Holiday Greetings with Versamark ink and heat embossed with Ranger Superfine White Embossing Powder.
I fixed the acetate to the frame with Ranger Wonder Tape and added to the panel to create the shaker.
I die-cut Flurry 2 Thinlits from white card, trimmed and fixed in place around the edges of the frame and added a few left over die-cut stars to decorate.
I painted the handles of the bag with Candied Apple Distress Paint and used a piece of Ranger Cut 'n Dry to apply paint to the edges of the bag too.
