This week I returned to my Dina Wakley 6" x 6" Media Journal. I love working in this journal with it's rough textured cotton rag paper but it does pose challenges when it comes to stamping. I used my quick and easy favourite technique to add colour to the background by smooshing Distress Corduroy Distress Oxide ink on to my glass media mat, spritzing with water, picking the ink up on a piece of acetate and pressing on to the pages. I repeated the process until I was happy with the background and then used a small paintbrush with the left over ink to create splatters.
I applied Peeled Paint Distress Oxide ink through Stencil #59 Weathered Tiles using a mini round blending tool.I inked the image from #233 Flower Moments with Versafine Clair Nocturne ink and stamped on the background - you can see that the image is not perfect but no matter.
I re-stamped the flower heads with the same ink on to Distress Watercolor card, coloured with Wilted Violet Distress Oxide ink and fussy cut.
I fixed the flower heads over the original images using Distress Collage Medium Matte, coloured the centres with Wild Honey Distress Marke and add dots using a Sakura White Gelly Roll Pen.
I coloured a strip of Distress Watercolor card with Wilted Violet Distress Oxide ink, die cut the letters using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Alphanumeric 1" Thinlits, lined them up using my T Square Ruler and fixed in place with Distress Collage Medium Matte. I inked the sentiment from the stamp set with Versafine Clair Nocturne ink and stamped on to a scrap of Idea-ology Plain Collage Paper. I painted around the sentiment with a wet paintbrush, teased the excess paper away with my finger and added to the page with Distress Collage Medium Matte.
