Tim Holtz/Sizzix Chapter 4 - Tree Rings

Hi folks, the first day of November and that means it's going to be Christmas makes all the way from now until the big day and isn't it a sobering thought that it's only 7 and a bit weeks away. Today I'm sharing a card I made for the Facebook Live launch of Tim Holtz/Sizzix Chapter 4 dies. If you missed the launch on Facebook Live, you can pop over to Tim's blog and check out all the amazing new Christmas 2019 dies and admire the inspirational samples HERE.
I decided to use the Tree Rings BigZ die with matching Texture Fade and an Idea-ology Dimensional Dome to create a card with a removeable Christmas tree ornament.
I began by die-cutting lots of the Tree Rings from Sizzix Matboard and Distress Mixed Media Heavystock. I used the Circle Words Thinlits to die cut an aperture in the Distress Mixed Media Heavystock die cut - the circle from this set is perfectly sized for the Dimensional Domes.
I ran the Mixed Media Heavystock die-cuts through my Big Shot using the matching Texture Fade.
and coloured by blending Antique Linen, Vintage Photo and Ground Espresso Distress Oxide inks outwards from the centre using mini round blending tools. I fixed the Dimensional Dome to the back of the die cut and fixed a circle frame on top die-cut from red Classic Kraftstock using the Circle Words Thinlits. I layered the Matboard die-cuts together and fixed a small scrap of Idea-ology Christmas Paper Stash to the centre. I added Distress Rock Candy Glitter in the centre of the paper, fixed a red twine bow at the top and fixed the die-cut with the Dimensional Dome on top. I applied Ground Espresso Distress Paint on the back of the ornament and around the edges blending it out on to the top edge. Sorry there are no photos for this stage, blame Mr Blogger who decided to delete them but hopefully you will get the gist of my ramblings from the photo below.
I die-cut the bow, stars, holly berries and leaves from white card and Classic Kraftstock fixed in place with Distress Collage Medium Matte.
I scored and folded Kraft Card to create an A2 card, stamped the Woodgrain background from Lumberjack inked with Ground Espresso Distress Oxide Ink and the sentiment from Modern Christmas 1 with Fired Brick Distress Oxide ink. I attached a teeny glue dot to the back of the ornament, just enough to hold it in place but making it easily removeable to hang on the tree and attached the sentiment popped up on Tim Holtz Sizzix Mini Foam.
I'll be back soon to share more Tim Holtz Christmas Stampers Anonymous and Sizzix projects, in the meantime, have fun with your Christmas crafting.

  4. Sooooo very cute. Love this. I bought the domes not knowing what I would actually do with them so this is perfect. I however can't figure out what you used for the tiny white (or is that silver) stars/snowflakes.
Thanks so very much for sharing this.
