Simon Says - Food And/or Drink

Hi Everyone...welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog. Thank you for joining us for last week's challenge and we hope you can join us this week too because

and the theme for this week is...

FOOD AND/OR DRINK

I made a card to celebrate the iconic British tradition of Afternoon Tea, a special treat especially when shared with friends. I used Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Mini Layering Stencils from Sets 3 and 6, Idea-ology Palette Ephemera, Photobooth and Heart Adornment.

I trimmed Distress Watercolor card to 4" x 5.1/4", spritzed Gathered Twigs Distress Spray Stain through the Mini Layering Stencil from Set 3, sprayed lightly with water to soften the edges, dabbed dry with kitchen towel and inked around the edges with Gathered Twigs Distress Oxide ink using a mini round blending tool.

I selected Ephemera pieces from the Idea-ology Palette Ephemera Pack and a photo from Idea-ology Photobooth.

I arranged the pieces to create a collage, with the china teacup taking centre stage and fixed in place with Distress Collage Medium.

I stencilled the word True on to the Ephemera tag using the Mini Layering Stencil from Set 6 with Scorched Timber Distress Ink and a Tiny Blending Tool.

I applied Distress Texture Paste Crackle through the Hearts Mini Layering Stencil from Set 6 using a palette knife.

I created shadows around the ephemera pieces using a Scorched Timber Distress Watercolor Pencil and softened the edges using a Detailer Water Brush.

I fixed Sizzix Adhesive Sheet to Simon Says Schoolhouse Red cardstock, die-cut using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Alphanumeric Tiny Type Lower Thinlits and fixed to the Ephemera label.

I painted an Idea-ology Heart Adornment with Antique Linen Distress Paint, wiped off the excess, fixed to the panel and added a twine bow.

To finish, I matted the panel on to Simon Says Schoolhouse Red cardstock trimmed to be 1/8" larger and fixed to an A2 white card blank, covered with Distress Kraft HeavyStock.
