Craft...v....D.I.Y.

Morning folks.......the challenge over at Papertake Weekly this week is another fabby sketch from my lovely bloggy bud....Dawny P and this is one challenge that I don't like to miss but at the moment.....my life has been taken over by D.I.Y....but it's a nice simple sketch....piece of cake....won't take me long to whip up a card.....well how wrong was I...have been well and truly taken down by this "Dopey Mare" virus that seems to be going the rounds....forget Swine Flu....this is far more serious

Papers: Basic Grey....Wassail Collection
Image: Creata
Sentiment: Basic Grey Wassail Alphabets
Penny Black..."Holly Jolly Christmas" Clear Stamp Set
Ribbon: from my offcut box
And what went wrong this time I hear you ask......well I punched my holes for my ribbon bow at the bottom of the matt instead of the side...but all is not lost....there are no mistakes in crafting....whoooo...got away with it this time....just fitted some alphabet tiles on top...but it's definitely a worry.
And what of the cubbyhole......well the project is on budget and on schedule....painting all done and dusted....a blank canvas to work with..... 12 square yards of crafting heaven.....makes the cubbyhole look like a broom cupboard...hence the name but my next dilemma....what am I going to call this new crafty space.....now there's a thought

Now I need to go shopping for carpet tiles which if I speak nicely to hubby I am hoping he will fit on Sunday while I trip off to Ikea for my units.     I have been informed that Ikea do deliver to Aberdeen.....but hang on to your braces folks.....from Edinburgh to my postcode would be £90.......no way am I paying that.....just think how many Hero Arts and Penny Blacks I could buy for that....so it's a 5 hour round trip and the time spent in the store.....well kiss goodbye to the whole blinking day.
And talking of day.....we are off for our morning stroll and then it's time for the crafty hat again....need to get my DT stuff done for this week....oh yes.....I am like the coo's tail as usual and hopefully if the dreaded virus doesn't strike again.....there will be some sneaky peeks tomorrow......catch up with you all later.
Hugs Kath xxxxxx

  1. Super card Kath, super quick eh! that would take me at least 2 hours, but then I'm a ditherer,
If your're going to IKea on Sunday my local store In milton keynes opens at 10am for breakfast at 99p, although you can't shop until 11am might be nice to have an early start and have brekkie when you get although they only serve it until 11am. check if your store does the same, and don't forget the roof rack.

have a good day can't wait to see your new room when it is finished.

  2. Fab card Kath - love the cute little robin!

I think I must be suffering from 'Dopey Mare' virus too...missed a couple of challenge deadlines in the last week...and despite trying to be really organised, printing off a list off the challenges, and pictures of the sketches...I still get it wrong...and miss bits off! lol

Ikea on a Sunday...you're a braver woman than me! lol

  4. This is another fabby Kath creation my friend. Love that robin and those papers. You did a fab job with the old sketcheroonie xxxx Thanks for bobbing over and joining us at PTW xxxx

IKEA on Sundays is a no-no for us. Well to be honest it is a no-no any day for Rich because he objects to them putting a line round the store which we have to follow like sheep!! Don't ask me how his mind works, bless lol xxxx But it does incense him. So he refuses to go. Of course, it could all be a ploy to avoid going!!! We only have a diddy car, and as you know - from bitter experience - it is mostly full of falconry crap, wellies and Barbours. So there isn't room for anything really. So we have to pay the delivery and it is a complete rip off!!

Oh I would be so excited if I were you getting yourself a nice new craft room. I hope you are going to have a grand opening - we can all come and join in lol xxx.

And there must be a dopey mare virus doing the rounds. I always have it - it is obviously a chronic condition for me, but poor Helen has it as well now I see. Maybe they are all catching it off of us pair of dafties lol xxxx

Biggest hugs and loads of love xxxx

  5. This is such a cute card, I love the fluffy robin! Good luck with Ikea, everytime I go I fit out an imaginary craft room in my head, I'd call it a 'Studio' - fancy!
