with the examiner on hand to check out any road hogness or major driving errors...
and woohoo....well done boys...passed with flying colours...
time to let off some steam on the assault course...
before heading for a leisurely train ride at the Alford Valley Railway...
we weren't the only ones waiting for the next train...
but here she comes...
and I have to say I can't remember it being such a bumpy screechy noisy ride but that's maybe just old age or perhaps they have run out of WD40...
Just time to grab a rather delicious Banoffee Ice Cream Cone before we headed home after a fun fabulous and rather scorchio day out.
But true to form...the weather is never the same 2 days running...yesterday started off well enough for a football kick around in the park but when the heavens opened we had to make a sprint for home and a lazy chill out 007 afternoon with a "The Name Is Bond...James Bond" DVD before my "missing you already" guests departed for home. It's lovely to have them staying over but I have to admit to rather enjoying my "crikey it ain't half quiet" chill out...feet up...telly watching evening....just me and The Furry Boy...my kind of guy...the perfect companion...more interested in snoozing than keeping up a running incessant chatter commentary on whatever I'm watching.
I'll see you all tomorrow

Looks like a perfect day Kath, and I know exactly what you mean about peace and quiet!

Good Morning Kath. Great Pictures. It's lovely to have the Grandchildren, but it definitely can be tiring too. Have a Good Day. Hugs Rita xxx
ReplyDeleteFabulous photos Kath, they looked as though they both were having fun! & a movie together is the best part... Hope you are recovery & enjoying the peace & quiet....Hugs May x x x
ReplyDeleteHi Kath, great photos, we have our two youngest here for a 'full on' day today to celebrate DH's birthday, there will be lots of energy expended at the park (I hope) if the weather holds. Always fabulous to see them but good too to be able to hand them back at the end of the day and relax!! Hugs, Anne x

ReplyDeleteKath, it's lovely having the grandchildren but as you say it's the none stop chatter. That's what people can't understand when I say that about mine, with me being a nanny but when I leave work for home that's it. But when the grandchildren are staying over its 24/7.
I will have to take our grandsons to that driving course it looks like fun,
Enjoy your peacefull day.

ReplyDeleteLooks like you had fun Kath but as you say fine to be quiet again too. We were with ours last week from Wednesday to Saturday last week. We do like going to babysit or visit them but it's nice to get home too. Even the dogs were happy to get home again.

We were there 20 years ago Kath with my then 3 year old son LOL We stayed at Haughton House. (we have relatives in and around Aberdeen)I have my 13 year old nephew staying at the moment and he is so quiet I wouldn't know he was here!!??
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had a wonderful time. Sadly no grandchildren for me - can I borrow yours? They look great fun. X
ReplyDeleteLooks like they had a brilliant time. I know what you mean about the non stop chatter. It's definately quiet when Maddison has gone home. She's usually jumping about and tippling over everywhere, or dancing with arms and legs everywhere. Just wish I had her energy.
ReplyDeleteIt looked like a lovely place you visited. Enjoy your rest. Hugs x ChrisB
