and it feels like home again...
instead of a dust sheet...masking tape building site. The bookcase is finished but still needs a little bit of sanding down and a coat of Annie Sloan Clear Wax....shucks a great excuse for a little jaunt today to Rustiques via Dunelm for the plain lime cushions which I should have bought on my last visit and the hunt is on for a blind for the kitchen and some of those finishing touch bits and pieces.
I did manage to squeeze in a little cubbyhole playtime yesterday...painting up this "HOME" plaque that I bought from Rob The MDF Man at the NEC....crikey must be 2 years ago...just goes to show that those mad moment crafty purchases are never in vain...
and how remiss of me yesterday not to say a big thank you to all my bloggy buddies for all your words of encouragement and lovely comments in my DIY hours of need...I really do appreciate your company although I do feel bad that I just haven't had time to visit you all lately but tonight I'll be popping the cork on the champers...drinking a toast to you all and celebrating my very own little Grand Design achievement...
and boosting morale ready for Stage 2...oops did I omit to mention that this was only Stage 1 of the planned Chez Kath Make-Over. I bought enough flooring to extend out into the hall so the next area of renovation is every decorator's nightmare...the hall and staircase...crikey another 6 doors for the painting conveyor belt but I'm hoping that all this DIY stuff is a bit like giving birth...what are the chances that a few weeks down the line I'll have forgotten all the labour pains and by the time the plasterer and joiners return September/October...I'll be raring to go again.
See you all tomorrow
Hugs Kath xxx

Hi Kath, well done. All your hard work as paid off and everywhere looks beautiful. I just wish I had some of your energy. I don't know how you do it and keep all us entertained as well. Enjoy the champagne. Love and hugs x ChrisB
ReplyDeleteWell done Kath! Having a house is like trying to paint the Forth Bridge - you never really get to the end, but along the way you have lovely little celebrations. I'm just about to embark on new curtains and cushion covers for our conservatory. Now it's cooled down a bit I can actually get out there with my sewing machine without being fried. Then no doubt I will have to paint all the walls too. X
ReplyDeleteYour home is looking fabulous Kath.. Love the curtains etc the home sign is Fantastic....Yikes you say phase 2 my word girl you are a trooper....Hugs May x x x
ReplyDeleteIt all looks beautiful Kath - top marks for sticking with it to the end. But this is only Stage 1! You're a crazy woman - but we do all love you!
ReplyDeleteHi Kath, your curtains are beautiful, they make the patio door look bigger. Good luck when phase two arrives, enjoy the wee break from the paint roller and brushes...Trish
