but I'd noticed a bit of a soft and squishy swelling around the wound over the last few days...a build up of fluid apparently which has prevented the wound from healing fully. The good news is the vet drew off some of the fluid and it was clear meaning no infection...the not so good news is...as I suspected...the stitches and the cone of shame will be staying in place until Monday. There are two not very happy bunnies in the cubbyhole at the moment...one who was looking forward to a kicking up his heels run around the forest and the other who thought that the constant battered and bruised legs torture had finally come to an end. But hey things don't always go according to plan...that's life or c'est la vie as they say in France and better this than another anaesthetic to have it re-stitched and be back to square one with the recovery...we've come this far so what's another few days...it is what it is. The weather is matching our mood today so a day of crafting in the cubbyhole sounds good to me.
Catch you all later
Hugs Kath & Buddy xxx

ReplyDeleteAw, poor Buddy and poor you with your bruised legs, Kath. He does look fed up doesn't he bless his heart. Thank goodness there's no infection though and with any luck he'll get his parole on Monday, then we'll see him smiling again.
ReplyDeleteI agree that dogs do show emotion. My last dog 'lost' me in the park one day and he was getting so stressed out. When he caught sight of me I could see the relief on his face and by the time he barrelled into me he was smiling :). My present furry friend is a mini schnauzer and has the most expressive eyebrows I've ever seen on a canine. She's great at sulking...especially when I give her a shower. Right now she's taken possession of the sofa and is fast asleep...what a great life!
Bejay xx
