AALL&Create - Blooming Field

Hi my friends, it's Tuesday and that means I'm sharing my AALL&Create Guest Designer project. I decorated a Journal cover with one of the images from #229 Blooming Field designed by Olga Heldwein. I love floral images and they don't come any more beautiful than these. There is so much detail and shading on the flowers which makes colouring easy. Now that the chilly days have arrived, I was inspired to go with Autumnal colours.

I began by die-cutting Eileen Hull's BigZ XLScoreboard Journal from Sizzix Matboard.
I inked the large image from #229 Blooming Field with Versafine Clair Nocturne ink and stamped on to the front cover and masking paper.
I fussy cut the masking paper image, placed on top of the stamped image and sprayed the covers with Antique Linen and Tea Dye Distress Oxide Spray inks to create a soft look. I dried the covers and spritzed with water, blotting off the excess with a paper towel.
I added Tea Dye Distress Oxide ink through Stencil #52 Quadrilaterals using a mini round blending tool.
I rubbed the Ground Espresso Distress Oxide ink over the back of Stencil #53 Florastella, spritzed with water and monoprinted on to the covers.
I removed the mask and coloured the image with simple watercoloring using Tea Dye, Pine Needles and Ground Espresso Distress inks.
And last but not least, I couldn't resist a little bit of stencilling using my favourite AALL&Create Stencil #39 Lotza Dotz with Pine Needles Distress Oxide ink.
I applied Distress Collage Medium Matte randomly on the background and centre of the largest flower, applying it sparingly with my finger, sprinkled with Stampendous Frantage Aged Black and Chunky White Embossing Enamel and heated until melted.
I fixed the covers together with Ranger Wonder Tape and added shading around the edges using Ground Espresso Distress Oxide ink and a mini round blending tool.
I inked the sentiments from #229 Blooming Field with Versafine Clair Nocturne ink and stamped on to a scrap of card coloured with Tea Dye Distress Oxide ink, sprinkled with Ranger Superfine Clear Embossing Powder and heated until melted. I tore around the edges of the sentiments and fixed to the cover with Distress Collage Medium Matte.
