Hi Everyone...welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog. Thank you for joining us for last week's challenge and we hope you can join us this week too because
The first challenge of the month is when the team showcase one particular company or brand and this week we are all using the fabulous products from AALL&Create. You don't have to use their products to join in the challenge but if you have them in your stash, we would love to see what you make with them. We are also welcoming the very talented Laura Cassina as our Designer In The Spotlight and if you haven't visited her Instagram page, pop over, you will be in for a real treat.
This challege this week is...
ADD RED/WHITE AND/OR BLUE
I created a card to wish all my friends in the USA a very Happy 4th of July using AALL&Create Frayed Frames dies and Light Life & Love Ephemera Die-Cuts, Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Stripes Layering Stencil with Barn Door Distress Spritz, Spellbound Layering Stencil with Distress Texture Paste and Distress Rock Candy Glitter, Paint By Number and Curiosity Shop stamp sets, Tim Holtz/Sizzix Alphanumeric Varsity Thinlits and Idea-ology Specimen Remnant Rubs.
I trimmed Simon Says Soft Navy cardstock to 4.3/4" x 6.3/4", darkened the edges with Chipped Sapphire Distress Oxide ink using a mini round blending tool and added splatters of Weathered Wood Distress Spritz.
I applied Candied Apple Distress Oxide ink through Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Stripes Stencil using a mini round blending tool on to an A2 panel of Distress Watercolor card and with the stencil still in place, sprayed with Barn Door Distress Spritz.
I die-cut the stencilled panel using AALL&Create Frayed Frames dies. I die-cut a second panel of Distress Watercolor card using a larger frame die and a border die from the set and inked around the edge with Chipped Sapphire Distress Oxide ink.
I stamped the numbers from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Paint By Number and Curiosity Shop on to the stencilled panel inked with Chipped Sapphire Distress Oxide ink.
I fixed the two panels to the background panel using Distress Collage Medium, applied Ranger Opaque Texture Paste through Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Spellbound Layering Stencil and sprinkled with Distress Rock Candy Glitter.
I chose flowers from AALL&Create Light Life & Love Ephemera pack which were a light purple colour and re-coloured using Barn Door Distress Spritz and a small paintbrush. Once the Spritz had dried, I added splatters of Dina Wakley White Gloss Spray.
I snipped between the petals of the flowers to shape them and fixed to the panel popped up on foam squares to add dimension. I die-cut Tim Holtz/Sizzix Alphanumeric Varsity Thinlits from Distress Watercolor card, Distress Watercolor card coloured with Barn Door Distress Spritz and Simon Says Soft Navy cardstock, layered and fixed to the panel with Distress Collage Medium.
I added Idea-ology Numbers and Specimen Remnant Rubs.To finish I matted the panel on to a 5" x 7" white card blank.
