Happy Thankful Days...

Hi folks...I'm happy happy to report that the Furry Boy is home again after yesterday's trip to the vet...surgery was successful and the lump removed with good clear margins...we still have to wait for the histology report and worst case scenario...another nasty and the chance of recurrence meaning we have to be vigilant...early removal is key but hey we'll deal with that head on if and when.
In the meantime His Nibs has got his grumpy face on...not entirely happy that he's on a light diet for the next few days and gentle "on the lead" strolls are the order of the day for the next 2 weeks until he gets the stitches out and not impressed either by the arrival of new neckwear...
I think it's a big improvement on the hard plastic lampshade alternative and of course I've got damage limitation in mind...the walls doors and back of my legs will now be safe from the rampaging hooligan but I don't have to wear this snug fitting donut for the next 14 days...so what do I know.
Can I just say once again a huge thank you for all your good wishes and support through what has been a difficult week...it means a lot to me to know that you were thinking of us and in the light of the recent news of the sad death of Robin Williams...a man who brought joy and laughter to millions of people throughout his career but tragically struggled to find peace in his personal life...why in the 21st century is there so little understanding and still a stigma about mental illness of any form. I feel humbled that I am lucky enough to work in an industry which is all about sharing and friendships...lots of folks have told me over the years that crafting has been a lifeline for them bringing them back from the brink of despair and depression...if crafting helps just one person through difficult times...that makes me very happy.
It's back to the crafty list today..the production crew are a man down but no doubt he'll be joining us in the cubbyhole and treating us to his "decibel busting snoring" company...happy days indeed.
See you all tomorrow
Hugs Kath xxx

  7. Kath I am so pleased all went well yesterday. We love our furry companions so much and they are such a big part of our lives. Love the doughnut ring, fab idea , not seen one before. 9. Buddy looks very sorry for himself Kath, but so very pleased to see him home, lovely boy he is too. Like you I'm saddened by the death of Robyn Williams and such sadness in his life that went unknown as he brought joy to others. Crafting is amazing for taking your mind off things in life as you know from the past week's worry with Buddy, and myself when my father was poorly before he died. Anyway, enough ramblings, take care yourself and love and cuddles to the Furry Boy, be back to his self very soon. Sue x

  14. Hi Kath, great news, I'm sure you'll have enjoyed a better sleep last night. The hardest bit for Buddy will be the light diet probably, they do like their food. At least it's not beautiful sunny days to miss out on your long walks... Trish

  17. Ah that sweet face! The collar definitely looks like it will be more comfortable that that cone. Big hugs from me.

I feel so sad about Robin Williams, he brought such joy to people, it is such a shame that he suffered so much. Crafting has certainly brought joy into my life and crafty friends really are the best! Hugs, Anne xx

  19. Wonderful news Kath although Buddy doesn't look too impressed.
Depression is a terrible disease which everyone is frightened of talking about or admitting that they suffer from it. And it is true that crafting can help reduce the symptoms. We are all very lucky to have such a great crafting community too and although we may never meet our crafting blogger friends we know that in times of difficulty our blogging buddies' comments can lift our spirits. We are indeed blessed.
    Take care
    Lesley

  20. Oh it as so good to read your news today and great to see that Buddy is back and without that dreaded lampshade. My daughter is battling with depression and crafting has helped her a lot too. Why do we shun away from it so much though?

  24. Happy to hear that Buddy is doing well. Can't say as I blame him for the woe is me face - having to deal with the donut and a stumpy club foot. I imagine we'll hear all about it once he's able to put paw to keyboard again! <>

  32. Good to see our boy back home with his mam although he doesn't look to happy about it at the moment! Perhaps purple isn't his colour LOL! Fingers crossed that he recovers quickly and is soon back to sniffing out the bunnies on his walks,

  33. Pleased to hear your news, after all your worries. That neckwear has got to be better than the lampshades. Bashing into things with those on, must surely have been painful. Enjoy his company.

  34. Hi Kath, sorry I've not been by to visit you here lately. I don't get the same chance to get on the computer since events last year. I was so very sorry to hear about your lovely Buddy's health and the worrying time you've had. I'm glad his surgery went well. I wish him a speedy recovery and a good outcome with lab results, and of course his continuing good health, so he can take you out those lovely walks I know you love. I think his new do-nut collar is a much better idea than the lamp shade, it looks a wee bit comfier anyway.
I was saddened to hear about Robin Williams too. He's always been one of my favourite actors ever since his Mork and Mindy days. He'll be sadly missed.
Loved your beautifully crafted book too btw. It's gorgeous!
Take care of yourself and your beautiful hooligan.
    hugs Alexandra xx

  35. Grumpy or not, Buddy looks just Beautiful! And I'm so glad to hear everything went ok.
Here's hoping he gets used to his new "scarf" quickly x

  36. So glad Buddy is ok, that new collar is fab as you say your legs won't end up being black and blue, ( been there for the same reason as Buddy) we had to keep checking our old lab so know what you are going through. Hazel

  37. Aww poor Buddy, he looks so sad! I'm so glad to hear that his surgery went well though and I really hope everything is okay when the report comes back. I completely agree with you - raising awareness about mental illness is something I am extremely passionate about. It's a shame that the rest of society isn't as supportive and caring as the crafting community!
    Rebecca.
