Hi Everyone...welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog. Thank you for joining us for last week's challenge and we hope you can join us this week too because
and the theme for this week is...
DRY EMBOSSING
I used Tim Holtz/Sizzix Foliage 3D Texture Fade, Countryside Thinlits, Distress Mica Stains and Simon Says Welcome die to create 2 for the price of one, Autumn themed cards.
I began by trimming Distress Kraft HeavyStock to create 2 - A2 panels, coloured with Flickering Candle, Jack O Lantern and Bubbling Cauldron Distress Mica Stains, misted the back side lightly with water and ran through my die-cutting machine using the Tim Holtz/Sizzix Foliage 3D Texture Fade.
I used the Foliage 3D Texture Fade again with a panel of Distress White HeavyStock. I smooshed a Custom Blend ink pad (Antique Linen and Old Paper Distress Inks, Speckled Egg and Frayed Burlap Distress Oxide inks) on to the craft mat on my glass media mat, laid the panel on to the inks and dried. I tapped the panel back in to the inks to pick up the remaining droplets, dried and repeated until I was happy with the background.
I die-cut one of the Distress Mica Stains panels and a plain Distress White HeavyStock panel using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Countryside Thinlits.
I die-cut the Welcome sentiment multiple times from Distress White HeavyStock and layered to create dimensional sentiments for each panel. I die-cut the sentiment again from the left over Distress Mica Stains panels and fixed to one of the white die-cut sentiments.
I fixed the sentiments and die-cut waste bits and pieces from both Countryside Thinlits to the panels and added Idea-ology ChitChat Stickers.
I finished by trimming both panels to 4" x 5.1/4" and matted on to A2 Distress White and Kraft HeavyStock card blanks.
