Hi Everyone...welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog. Thank you for joining us for last week's challenge and we hope you can join us this week too because
and the theme for this week is...
HEAT EMBOSSING
I used Prize Ribbon and Crackling Campfire Distress Embossing Glazes and Simon Says White Embossing powder to heat emboss the stamped images from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Field Notes and Faded Type on the background. I sprinkled white and gold powders from the Stampendous Frantage Embossing Enamels Kit over the background and the Specimen butterfly and heat set from the back side of the panel.
I
I began by trimming Distress Watercolor card to 4" x 5.1/4" and coloured using Dusty Concord Distress Spray Stain and Prize Ribbon Distress Oxide Spray. I inked the images from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Field Notes with Crackling Campfire and Prize Ribbon Distress Oxide inks, sprinkled with the corresponding Distress Embossing Glazes and heat set.
I inked the text stamp from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Faded Type with Versamark ink and heat embossed with Simon Says Fine Detail White Embossing Powder.
I stamped the butterfly image from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Specimen, inked with Black Soot Distress Archival directly on to the panel, basically just for the antennae, yes I don't mind fussy cutting but not around those delicate appendages. I re-stamped on to a scrap of Distress Watercolor card, coloured with Prize Ribbon, Crackling Campfire and Ground Espresso Distress re-inkers using a Distress Detailer Brush, drying between layers to build up the depth of colour. I fussy cut and fixed over the original stamped image using Distress Collage Medium Matte.
I sprinkled White and Gold powders from Stampendous Frantage Embossing Enamels kit over the butterfly and background, heat set from the back side of the panel and added Ranger Glossy Accents to the butterfly body. I fixed Idea-ology Small Talk Stickers to scrap white card, trimmed around the edges and sanded to reveal the white core.
To finish I matted the 4" x 5.1/4" panel on to a slightly larger white panel and fixed to an A2 Simon Says Black card blank.
